Seattle was a gnarly track, but the visors stayed on. Laughing

He wears Fox. They don't count, but I do think there was already a visor on the ground where he crashed in qualifying.

Is the visor count still an ongoing thing? I'd have to imagine it's a lot more than 8... Either way this adds to the count.

Screen capture of Mosiman in practice.

I'm sure it's more than that, but we're counting the ones shown on screen.

+1 Mosiman.

That’s 10 total. The “visor wall” is going to be pretty full by the end of the season 😂

One race left. Will we get a dozen? Laughing

Figured I’d give the trophy visors a proper “wall” to be displayed on. Also flipped them so the logo was right side up.

Going to push this through outdoors and SMX and maybe we choose the “best visor” at the end of the year?

I may go back and put them on plaques with the rider and incident underneath.

Am I putting way too much time into this?

……….Absolutely 😂

You gotta add a placard beneath each one with the riders name and which race it happened at after tonight’s race! Grinning

Good thread. My kid started wearing Astar helmets this year. Visor has come off about 6 times. Lost one at $80. Knocked him self out for a minute in one (had to retire that one). Had a visor come off today in a wreck actually. I’d say visor comes off 1 in 4 wrecks for him, not enough for me to switch helmets. Figure the visor is doing what it’s designed to do

Oakley has or had displays in their Ski goggles at one point. Not sure if they still have them or not. I saw them years ago and retail was $300+ . I looked quick and did not see them available anymore though. Maybe ahead of their time?

Those are awesome! Wish they were in the sport.

I swear I heard him say to someone after the race that a rock took it off. I get the safety aspect of the visors but this is getting ridiculous, there's a middle ground and they haven't found it.

They are pretty hard to pull off. I've wondered if the top guys run a different setup that comes off easier than the production Visors.

I know that there are some special parts for the helmets and boots that are only available to the sponsored riders. So its possible.

It feels like its enough force that a plastic screw would break with a similar amount of force. I would rather have a visor that can come off like the Alpinestars helmets than have a crash and have a visor hanging on that is flipping around but still stuck on well enough that I can not pull it off completely. In past years there have been racers that have had that happen. I think Blake Baggett had one spin around and was on backwards, RC had crashes that he had to try and pull it off and had to fight it. There are others. Back then instead of it popping off, You would see riders with them dangling and riders trying to rip them off like a tear off. Sometimes even having to stop to get rid of it .

I have sold a bunch of them, and so far, nobody has lost a visor. I don't think its a big issue for the average rider like it is for the top Pro racers.
