Merry Christmas, guys
I have had NO calls on my Maico. I guess it's not "The Bike" to have for its class in vintage racing. Or, maybe it's just the time of year and all.
Thanks for all of the nice comments about the bike. It is making killer "garage art" right now at least until someone wants to buy it. I have owned it for a long time and I guess I'm just used to having it around. It has stoked up some great bench racing sessions for sure.
Last year, I took it to the GNC International Final at Oak Hill, TX and rode it in practice with the big bikes the day before the National started. It was amazing the number of people that came to the fence and cheered and gave me thumbs up as I passed by. The "kids" on their modern 4 strokes could not figure out what it was as we waited in staging for our session to start. You should have seen the looks I got as the young riders stared and shook their heads. It was a kick in the pants, that's for sure. Big fun.
I was supposed to sell my 500 Honda to buy my sons Christmas 85 but could not pull the trigger when i got a legit offer. I bought the wife wood floors and kept the 500.
Now, I need to figure out what vintage bike to get next. It will have to be a big bore as I have certainly put on some pounds since I got the 250 so many years ago.
Thanks again for all of the nice comments about the bike and a special thanks to the person that told my buyer about the bike. The buyer is a really nice guy and is a Maico expert that will do the bike right.

cool! good to hear the ol' 500 is still around also
so, what kind of reception did y'all's new Christmas 2-wheeler get? [img:wnd04zst]http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/6611/banane01rp0.gif[/img:wnd04zst]

J was "Super Pumped" with the new ride. We took it out the day after Christmas and he had a blast. I had to work my butt off on the 250F to keep up with him.
I'm taking him back on New Years day and the 500 is going also.
