I began this build in January and finished this past May. Although it wasn't the best bike of that year in the 125 class, I chose it because I rode a 1991 YZ250 in my teens and really enjoyed that bike. Although roached out, everything was in good, restorable, condition. Frame wasn't dented or bent, motor was strong, wheels were in solid shape, stock pipe and silencer in good shape, etc.
It now resides in my living room as a conversation piece.

I have a bike waiting. I'm thinking of doing a resto mod with a 96-01 engine and front end. Need to estimate the level of difficulty first though.

Can you hold your phone sideways and take a real.hood, stable, focused clean picture of that deltabox decal on your swingarm? Get it in tight so the logo takes up the whole jpeg.
Thanks
Did you shoot the Yamaha epoxy yourself? The motor like the rest of the bike looks super clean.
I love the metallic in that paint.
Thankfully you can still find replacement parts for these. Best of all they tend to in-expensive.
Hey I know I’m late to this post, but what kind of paint did you use?
For the engine paint I used factory Yamaha silver epoxy paint. I may still have that around somewhere.

Is the seat cover red or the magenta. I have a 91 I am building and I want to go with a red seat cover. Not sure what years are the same for seat covers.
89-90 had red covers and will fit the 91 seat
Magenta on mine. I wanted as close to showroom as I could get for the year.
Nice build!
