Have the same problem, size 15 and high volume feet (wide with tall instep and arch) My little toe is mangled from porly fitting shoes that it more or less sits on top of my foot now (it's not pretty) Tech 7's have been decent for me......by the end of day i'm feeling it. I'm 55 so by end of day i have a long list of hurt.

Curious about longer shifters though....never tried one.  Finding shops who stop large sizes is my biggest problem.

Hamerhead has some shifters that are extended. I think its about 15mm longer . A friend with a 13 has been using them for years.

I've got some funky toes too. I was wearing a 15 for too long since finding shoes was difficult until the internet and shopping for shoes online became a thing.

Tech 7's have a slim and sleek toe box, making shifting and foot placement much easier - so they are certainly not the roomiest, but more roomy than Tech 10's for sure.  I would definitely try another brand if you are looking for wide.

I do believe you are right here.  I think my issue is that the pressure point is not actually considered the "toe box". It is right where it begins. So having a wide toe box or not, is not really my issue here. I screwed around with the boot this morning using a heat gun to see if it would loosen and stretch a bit yo conform to the shape of my foot in that spot. Does not appear it is actually going to help without heating it so much that the glue between the sole and upper begins to lose its bond and break apart.

So I guess I will be looking at alternatives. Going to look into the Leatt 5.5's and the new Fox Instinct v2, possibly the Leatt 4.5. May try the Gaerne SG12s if I can find my size for a reasonable price.

My issue is that most dealers in my area do not stock many of the higher end boot models, and if they do, they seldom have 13's or 14's to try. So typically end up ordering 4 or 5 pairs online and tying up 2500-3000 Canadian on the credit card for a month. haha

So check this out - I tried on the Leatt 5.5 and it felt very, very protective.  I loved the way they felt, but I had one major issue though...  I broke my right ankle badly a few years ago, so much so that my ankles are not the same shape.  The Leatt boot created a terrible pressure point right on the side of my bad ankle, so those did not work for me at all - as bad as I wanted them to because they felt awesome overall.

The Leatt was definitely wider than the Tech 7's, but the Tech 7's didn't create the pressure point on the side of my ankle.

Sounds like you might have to bite the bullet and order a bunch to try on.

I too have a wider foot and I ran SG-12's. They fit good with a little bit of break in time. I take off the metal toe cap. Also they run 1/2 size big.

I don't have an extremely wide foot, but its wide enough all my daily shoes/boots are wides.

I was a long time instinct wearer with nothing but praises. Comfort was excellent, virtually zero break in, and plenty of support even for a twice broken ankle along with plantar fasciitis.

Wearing fly, i felt weird in fox boots, so i tried tech 10s and very much disliked them. Couldn't feel a thing and had a couple pressure points. About killed myself landing the uphill triple at high point and my toe was on the brake and i couldn't feel that. Switched back to my instincts to finish that day.

Came home, sold the 10s, and went to the only dealer around with boots and they happened to have a tech 7 and instincts. I was able to put both new on at the same time. Instincts still won the comfort but my ocd won the battle and i left with the 7s. Wide enough, pretty comfy, feel protected enough but i got most of my "feel" back on the bike vs the 10. Its been a year and thats only been like 8 rides, but theyre feeling pretty good now. I still struggle with the buckles tho and cant ever get my top two tight enough. I still may eventually go back to instincts one day if that says anything..

Tried on sidis, no way in hell. Too narrow and felt trapped in it with no feeling. Sg12s were out too because of how huge n heavy they felt.

Thought I would post a follow-up in case anyone cares. I tried a pair of the Leatt 5.5's. Too narrow despite the Leatt's supposedly being one of the wider boots. Surprisingly it was actually worse for me than my Tech 7's. Unfortunately Leatt only makes their 5.5's up to size 13 which is what I tried. I also tried the Fox Instinct 2.0's in a size 13 and size 14. The size 13 was too tight. The 14 however fits good, albeit a pressure point on my right outside ankle but the outside of the foot where the Tech 7 annoy's is not a problem in the Instinct 2.0.

Interestingly swapping back and forth, the Tech 7's actually still feel pretty good. I am going to decide on whether to keep the Instinct's or attempt to stretch the width a bit on the right foot of the Tech7. I actually find the Tech 7 more comfortable to be honest. The ankle padding is not as invasive, but if you cinch down the straps you can get very similar locked-in feeling. Obviously they lack the flexion limits, however I am not casing hundred-footers.

I did not want to pay almost a grand Canadian for the SG's, at least yet. I may still try them once my returns are processed. Already have 2800 Canadian tied up in just 3 pair of boots.

So surprisingly, still like the feel and comfort of the Tech 7's overall.

I’m a size 12 shoe but run size 13 Instincts. You think I should stick with 13 for the new Instinct 2.0?
