Hey Webco I remember Bruce had a factory 125 cc ride with Suzuki for 1983, was he going to get a works bike? I always speculate what year and bike would he have been on if he won the 125cc championship.
83 Johnny’O
84 Ward
85 Lechien ,that bike was awesome
Maybe 86??
Times have changed around the race track now a days. Maybe for the better, but it sure was fun to watch back in the 80's.
I think Brooks was #1 at Ponca in 1982, so must have won the Championship in 1981.
Man, what happened to you Paul? I know you had a big crash, but we all had big crashes back then. I heard you had some personal issues, it that true?
Sorry to hear about your Dad, Jack. I still remember his calling the 80 Intermediate class out to practice or to the starting gate, with his accent. I can't even write the way he said it, but we would always kind of giggle. He was a good guy.
You were always a little punk and always thought you were too cool, but things change after so many years and just glad to see you decided to talk about the old days.
Cool to see Scott Brown around here.
Pit Row
So if he was 13 years old in 1981 and got off 80's in 1983, he would have only been 15 or so. I'm sure he was never 18 years old on a mini bike. He was a big kid. Not very tall, but pretty dam stocky. He sure could ride an 80 fast back then.
He also went on to be a top pro on the nationals and supercross after that.
I started riding and racing at Saddleback in something like 1982 and kind of lost track of all my old buddies.
I saw Louie a bunch of years ago. He had a company that did license plate frames and rubber gloves. His Dad passed away and Vito was always so good to me. I was so sad.
I see Eric all the time at the races, but things have changed between us because of our jobs. His Father passed away too and that killed Eric, he's very corporate now a days.
I see Mouse here and there. Last I saw him, he was still working on movie sets and shooting commercials. He was doing some stunt work still too. A lot of the old Dunes guys, work in the stunt industry. I think Mouse and his Dad Mike hooked them all up.
I still see David Lynch quit a bit. He's driving trucks and working construction.
Ty went to the Navy and he's a really good guy. Kenny kind of lost his way for a little bit, but it sounds like he's back on track.
I have so much more to say, but I have my kids screaming at me and have to go.
Power to the Pee Wees!
