The guy made a choice to do what he did, now it’s time to answer for his choices. I hope it brings a little more closure to your family Kenny.
I didn't look for your location, but him being dead seems like a good option.
If that's not available, I hope he rots in a shitty place.
Still weep for you and yours, Kenny.
The guy is a fucking predator. Can you imagine him giving the first hit to some high school kid. He deserves no breaks in his trial.
That sums it up.

Good evening fellow non moto friends. It’s been a long time since this original post. Today the case was wrapped up and me and the family can move on without the stress of a trial, which this was finally heading for.
The DA and his team worked with the defendants lawyer and struck a plea deal. Kevin Bryant is 53 now and will be in prison for the next 11 years without the possibility of parole. We all felt this was a safe way to make sure he spent significant time behind bars. If it went to trial the DA let me know that all it takes is a jury who sides with him and they do not get a guilty verdict, and then he walks after time served. So to me, this is a good thing. I hope the guy spends his time in there trying to improve who he is and comes out a better man. The night of my son’s death, I had gone through his phone and I knew it was this guy who sold him the fentanyl that morning. I had such hatrid/anger towards him that I put my loaded 9mm in the car and went to his house the next day. I had no intention of killing him, but I loved the idea of shoving the barrel of the gun down his throat until he pleaded for mercy. I am as far from a violent person as one can be, but for a day or two I wanted him to feel the pain he caused us. All of that anger is long gone now. In my victims statement letter to the court I let him know amongst other things that I harbor no ill will towards him and that he is forgiven by me. I know that may sound odd to some, but I truly have forgiven him. I really hope he can make something out of his life when he gets out.
Cam had his family in the courtroom today. This guy had nobody there for support. So it made me feel like maybe he never had much of a chance to turn out the way he did. I really don’t know. I do know it’s better for my well being to not carry around anger/hatred so he let it go long ago.
I check in here daily but mostly as an observer. As much as I’d like to get into with you guys I find it’s best to check it out from a distance and just chuckle at some of the discussions. I love my moto crew….you guys are a fun group to be a part of
Wow, this post shows the honorable person you are. So sorry for your loss but glad you have some closure. Also glad it sounds you have come to some peace to what happened. The tragic events you had to be part of can lead people to some dark places but you have shown amazing strength. Once again so sorry for your loss 😢
KT, I'm happy you can move on from this. I can't imagine how difficult it's been, I probably think I can but that would just be lying to myself. What I can relate to is the calm of moving on from having a hate on my mind morning till night. Maybe meet up at Pala one day in the future?
All the best,
TM
Kenny T, you are a big man. I’m sorry for your family’s loss.
Its is good to hear that you feel some closure. Wishing you the best.
You’re a good man.
This is what I read to the court before sentencing. It was a very difficult day to say the least:
Kevin Bryant,
I am the father of Camron Trask. I want you to know I have forgiven you in my heart and mind and harbor no ill will against you. I do want you to know how Camrons death has affected my life so that in the future I hope you never decide to putchase, sell or use illegal narcotics.
I became a father when Cam was born at the age of 18. My life had changed for the better when he came into our lives. For 43 years Cam was not only my first born child, he was my best friend. I no longer led a life of a young adult, I had become a father and I found it was a life I was meant to have, as from that day on I had a love for my child, and future children that was unlike any feeling I had ever enjoyed.
Me and Cam had an incredible life as father and son, we had an attachment that most parents could only dream about. My incredibly blessed life forever changed on the night of February 12, 2022.
Cams life was lost that night, and in many ways my life was changed in such a way that I will never be the same person I was before he died.
I have not had a “good” day ever since he died. Sure I am able to function somewhat, I can smile and even laugh at things, but I am not happy. I don’t see how I will ever be happy again. There is a huge void in my heart that may someday be healed but it will never be filled with the love that was lost that night. Ive tried my best to get over his death and be happy. Me and Cam shared the love of motorcycling together since he was 5 years old. In the 2 years he has been gone, I have bought and sold 5 different bikes, trying to find the one to make me happy again, but Ive finally come to the realization that there is nothing out there to replace what was lost. Riding used to be my therapy, but now it is a reminder of our times together and i find my eyes filling with tears any time I would go out on a ride by myself. For now it is something I have given up on and I know Cam must be looking down with a broken heart.
I went from being a hard working contractor who showed up to my projects each morning with a happy demeanor and ready to do a hard days work. Now I have to drag myself out of bed to make it to my jobs by mid to late morning before I feel ready to face the day. Cam helped me on my projects for years and he was an excellent master craftsman/carpenter, he was so easy to be with on my projects and all of my customers loved him dearly. Now when I am at work I find myself crying periodically throughout the day, memories of him coming into my mind as I am doing projects we used to do together. Having to dry my eyes and act like everything is okay if a customer walks into the room.
Going over my books I realized my income had dropped in half each of the two years since his passing, not due to lack of work, it was due to me not being able to go or stay at work once I got there.
I am fortunate to have had many dreams where Cam is alive and well, we are once again together in those dreams sharing our life like we had before the night we lost him. So now I find myself wanting to sleep so I can see him again. I went from sleeping 6-7 hours a day to 11-12 hours. Taking naps hours after I wake up, going to bed early and sleeping late into the morning, all in the hopes that I will see my son again.
The last words I spoke to Cam were exchanged around 8 hours before he passed away. He was in the house with me and was on his way to attend a birthday party with his sister, nieces and nephew. We got up, embraced in a wonderfully warm hug, and told each other I love you. I walked him to the door and said to him “ please drive careful” and that was it, the last time I was able to see the beautiful smile on his face, his body and mind that were as healthy as he had ever been as an adult. He was doing so well and we were all so proud of how far he had come. If I had known it was the last time I would ever see him, I would have said much more. What I so wish I would have told him was thank you Cam, for being the most loving son a father could ever ask for. He was my best friend and I know I was his, he would do anything for me. I miss him so much, my life will never be the same.
Kenny Trask
My condolences to you Kenny, I could hardly get through your post and I hope you find some peace. All of my thoughts are with you and your family
I'm glad you got some closure. It's even better that you forgive the defendant. You don't want to carry that hatred around. Go live the rest of your life to the fullest in memory of your son.
Glad you have made amends with this guy, not sure I'm Christian enough for that, but you've made the right decision, I believe.
You are far more gracious with your forgiveness than I think I would be. I haven't been in your shoes, but it sure seems like I would harbor hate far longer and probably at an extremely unhealthy level. Thank you for showing us that hate is not the answer, and if something even remotely like this were to happen to my family, I hope that I am rational enough to think back to your example of grace.
I think about your situation a lot, actually. It personalizes the drug problems that we have in this country, even though we have never 'met'. It reminds me that most users are someone's child and loved, even if they have fallen into the vicious cycle of dependence.
I wish you and your family much peace with what has occurred, and hope that life becomes a happy, positive journey now that the waiting for accountability is over.
Kevin
There are some really good people on this board. Thank you all
Wow. You have done one of the hardest things to do as a human being under such circumstances. Forgiving, that is what we are called to do. Don't know that I would be able to, but that's easy to say not having had to endure what you have.
It's good to hear that you've let go of the hatred and anger. "Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.” ~ Mark Twain
I hope Mr Bryant reads and takes your letter to heart.
You are a good man and a great father.
Hello Kenny, just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your son, I watched a story about him and he seemed like a very nice young man and you were a great father to him. I noticed you're in Vista, Ca and I'm very familiar with the area, since my girlfriends father lives there and we went to the San Diego Supercross just recently while in town. You and your family have my condolences and I hope you can find peace now as you move on after this dealers conviction.
So many of us are led to the water. You have drank from it. I am in awe of your strength and courage.
