Going to Oklahoma, Where are the Good Tracks?

I'm Thinking of taking my son south to Oklahoma, Don't know if the track at Guthrie exists anymore. Anyone have idea's where to go? I used to go to 59th and Douglas all the time in my younger years, Not sure if that place still exists, just want a prepped track that we can blast around on for a couple of days. Planning on Reynard Raceway , but want to be prepaired if someplace else exists. Thanks

59th and Douglas doesn't exist any more. Your best bet would be to hook up with RR and ride on his new track.

We are planning to come ride Friday through Sunday...... We are coming to ride your track RRsis....Looks like an awesome track and setup....We'll probably ride at Reynards everyday unless I find something different. Might ride at Guthrie if he's still there.....I'm trying to get ahold of the guy ......

Good luck, but this state isn't what it use to be when it comes to tracks.

RRs is going to be your best bet.

What about the Stillwater 500 ac(Stillwater, OK)?? That's not a race track, but good offroad roosting....also Draper(Lk Draper in OKC area). Both of those are decent riding areas. Still open right, Jim?

I'd suggest that you keep on moving and stop in North Texas. There are about 25 tracks within 1.5 hours of DFW airport.

The 500's horrible right now but a little birdy just told me they will be having 3 motocross races at the 500 this year.

Motocity is racing next weekend but RR's track is much better. Talked to Robert a while today and you can just tell they really care about the place.

I will be heading south to Sherman Texas for the first night race of the year.

RR's for sure, very center of the state.....

Also, El Reno, just west of OKC on I-40 has, I am told, a very good track.

personally... Would hit RR's, Moto City (it was primo today, probably the best its ever been), El Reno, then continue on south on I-35. North Tx. must hit's ....

Nocona (even when its bad its GOOD!)

if you feel frisky and dont mind a drive, 3 Palms (just north of Houston) and Cycle Ranch (floresville TX, just south of san antonio)

A few are going to say certain tracks in n texas..sorry, they just arent that good. I like'n them to Ponca City, ass track, has been ass for years, but tradition puts it on everyones mind. For example, Whitney used to be heaven in the 90's. Last 3 times I have been there, pos. I am not a fan of Oak Hill (sorry, its ass for just hitting a practice for the joy of riding). Oak has 2 to 8 inches of loose dirt on top of what is essentially a rock hard base. Pictures, it looks like a traction heaven.... so does Washougal.

Is Blanchard, OK, still any good? I had a good time there about three years ago.

Cooperland is one of my favs and Anadarko,OK, lets you camp and ride for $10/day and you have the place to yourselves with some woods trails, also.

The only "Guthrie" mx track besides the former ax track at the Lazy E, is Area 51 at the exit to Stillwater/Cooperland.

We're coming from Lincoln, NE....so we only have a few days....Texas is to far, I just want to get out into the sunshine and ride, don't want to spend time on the road. I think we'll head to Reynards track and just try to blow the cobwebs out, maybe find a race somewhere, but the main idea is to ride and shake down my RM.....my newest aquisition....and stay healthy.....

We were riding in guthrie, not the track along the hiway, but the other one, can't remember the name, last year at this time. On saturday, a guy got t boned by a whiskey throttled bike on the track and had to be air lifted out with a badly broken femur.....At that time I was worried for the owner that his track may not be there this year... I guess I was right, too bad, that track was bitchen and the young owner really seemed to care and had a great prepped track. We had fun that weekend and now my son wants to head back down.....Hope that dude did'nt get sued....but I'm not surprised if he did....sad really.....kind of put a damper on a great weekend....nothing like a helicopter lifting a downed rider away to make you question whether you should go back out or not..

bq can tell us the status on most ANY track in OK.

I railed bq off the track at Blanchard, in 07. I really like that track! And introduced myself to bq!

if you are wanting sunshine, okla is NOT the place to be and hasnt been for the last 2 months! lol

We have seen the sun a handful of times since thanksgiving, and its drizzling rain as I type this from Shawnee (best place to "base camp" if you are going to make RR's your only stop. Home of Trey Canard! and only 20 mins from RR's)

Yeah that sound like the situation.....I'll tell you the guy that got hit was pitted right next to us.......I walked his bike back to the truck.......His leg was messed up real good, my son had to stay with him till the helicopter got there, he was going into shock, i was real proud of the boy that day...not bad for an 11 year old....I get sqeemish around those things so I led the ambulance to him....I don't condone suing tracks at all...ever and i'm not taking anyone's side but this guy was just riding when a kid whiskey throttled off of a 60 foot table top and ghosted his bike all the way across the track to another lane....This dude never saw it coming.....Thats what stuck in my head and made me not want to go back out....but like everyone says..We all know the risks going in...shit happens to everyone. I feel bad for the guy's situation. In the same token this was a fluke accident and the track owner should'n t be held liable for this anymore than if a meteor hit the guy while he was riding....I sure hope the track owner comes out of this okay , that track was bitchen......we had a great time.....I hope all parties come away from this stronger...thats the important thing.........I hate to see a well run track get shut down for any reason....

I would NEVER consider suing a track for an accident. I will say that I have tracked down a few owners (or other responsible persons) and told them that I think they are leaving their ass hanging out sometimes. Like when they leave disks or plows or railroad ties, etc...too close to the track. When they don't take time to explain to first timers which direction the track goes. When they don't shut down the pit racers especially when there's lots of itty bittys around. I very seldom ride OHV or "open" riding areas because it's usually uncontrolled choas...I expect a "track" to provide a reasonably safe area for me to try and kill myself.Silly

The 500 is fun, Then on to Reynards. At night you can go to Pole Position and race carts. It's alot of fun.

The 500 is the riding area outside of Stillwater.

The bad thing....they don't sell day passes anymore. I believe that they charge $125 for a yearly pass.... You have to have the pass to get in. You can call "Cooper Bike Shop" in Stillwater to get the details.

When we were there (last summer) the track at the 500 was unridable! The trails were good...but all the tracks were shit. I've heard that they might be redoing them. I've also heard that Dale lost Cooperland and it's closed....
