There are 51 shots here, including the rest of the sequence on that first turn crash.

Nice job GuyB,

That was a great day at Daytona. Weather was perfect, track was great.

MXSports had that thing running like clockwork on Sunday, from the time they had riders meeting, through practice and all of the races. I think it was all done around 4:30 or 4:45pm on Sunday.

Hopefully they will run this event again next year, and maybe spread it to a few more Pro SX Weekends across the country in the future.

Quite a few 250 smokers in there. Woohoo
I saw at least two holeshot pics of smokers plus more throughout the field. Very nice. Thanks Gibby.

I was looking for pics of my buddy Greg Sassi (#43) and was wow'd by the only photo of him I found. I couldn't get them on the phone yesterday to know how it was going but I can see it got brutal.

The guy on the Kawi was down the longest, but I think it was because the paramedics were excited that they finally had someone to check on. They were all over him. I later saw him racing in one of the last motos of the day

There were three kids, I believe, that won motos on Sunday that have older brothers racing supercross this year. Keylon, Goerke, and Chisholm.

Was there anyone getting some video footage of the event? Would love to see that, also thanks for the photos GuyB. Did they still have a triple jump on amateur day or was that completely taken out? Didn't notice it in the photos...

The triple at the end of the track (near Daytona NASCAR Turn 4) had dirt filled in between the 2nd and 3rd jumps to make it more like a big flat landing pad.

Thanks for the nice words on the Ricky Carmichael Supercross at Daytona. Guy B. has some great photos, and Matt Wozney also did some cool videos on MXPTV.com. Our man Matt Francis was there and will have a film up later today. Even Kit Palmer, the dean of Cycle News race reporting, stuck around for a couple of days!

We will definitely be doing this race next year, and the year after, and the year after... We learned a lot of important lessons, like being better prepared for the sign-up process. MX Sports is already working on fixing that snafu, and our apologies to everyone who got stuck in that unfortunately long line.

The Daytona International Speedway folks were blown away by how many riders and their families showed up, and also how enthusiastic and easy to work with they were. For people camping there on the infield Saturday and Sunday night, having that massive infield to play on and ride your bicycles around while your parents were visiting around or tailgating or whatever, it was pretty cool. When I left the track at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, they were a half dozen kids racing their bicycles around the infield horseshoe turns.

Anyway, next year will be bigger and better, we'll get to turn the lights on to race longer, and we will have sign-up sorted out, I promise.

Awesome! Sounds good DC! Me and a few buddies decided last minute to do it this year but it was too late as the Vet classes were full. We will without a doubt be signing up early next year to get our spot!

Doublezero, good stuff! #96 in there is Bill Ursic, our Managing Editor, riding a Butler Brothers MX Suzuki RM-Z250. Also, Brendan Lutes from Transworld Motocross was there racing Tommy Hahn's RM-Z450. He said he had a blast but got a little pumped up.... Probably because I told everyone on his starting gate that if they beat him, they would get a photo in TWMX!
