We've had a rider who seems like a legitiment contender to win both the AMA SX and MX titles in the same year and Villopoto looks like the only guy who has the Speed and the Smarts to do it, since RC. I think RC did it at least 5 times and if Villopoto wins this SX title, I think he's going to handily win the MX title no matter WHO shows up, that's including Chad and Stewart, neither of them is going to be able to hang with RV for two full motos.

I don't think Dungey has what it takes to beat Villopoto outdoors for the title, since he never really came close I don't think to challenging RV for one in the lites class. The only other rider I can think of who won both titles in recent memory is maybe McGrath, because I'm pretty sure he had at least one AMA outdoor title and he must have won the SX title that same year. Anyways! it seems to be a pretty exclusive club and I think RV's talented enough to be in that club.

Ben Townley, I think he saw a lot of Roost from Villopotos rear tire when they raced each other outdoors., so how's he going to have a chance.

considering he won more overalls in 07, so RV saw a fair bit of his roost as well,

be an interesting season for sure, with BT and Alessi concentrating on MX only, Chad Reed will not want to let go of the # 1 plate, and RV and Dungey will be fast as well,

regardless of what we all might think, atleast there's gonna be good racing to watch and hopefully this is a sign of times to come. For so many years there was alway's one guy walking away with it and now it's game on.......Stewart would have something for RV as well as Dungey, but i'd rather watch Gosh Grant battle for the lead.......

Stewart two years ago...chad last year although he got beat in Sx. And depending on who wins the Sx title this year you will have a couple of guys that could run up front.

Stewart "would" have something? I think RV would get a lot second places this year if James raced. But that won't happen so I hope RD can run RVs pace and maybe have josh grant in there with mike alessi too. A three or four way battle would be excellent for the outdoors, which is what it has needed for a while now.

I "think" Stewart would wad himself up outdoors trying to hold off the young guys... but, like you said, won't happen, so we'll never know.

Everyone forgets he went undefeated....the young guns are very fast but not as fast as stewie. A good gage is MA and he got destroyed by stewart. Now, RV is faster then MA but he is not up to James speed. In a perfect world we could have everyone racing and then we could see who the real bad ass of MX and SX is. I am hoping next year we will have that....let's pray the injury bug skips a year.

"I don't think So-n-So can do this-or-that even-though he has won 'X' National Titles in the last few years."

"I think So-n-So is the fastest be because his 'Brand-X' 450 is the best!"

"Sure; but, So-n-So won such-n-such that one year at Band-Camp!"

Dee, Dee, Dee...Yada, Yada, Yada.

Ahhhh! come on!!, that sounds like a Bunch of HUBBA BUBBA, Stewarts a washed up has been with a Bum Wrist and he's gonna get eatin alive by Villopoto outdoors if he dares to show up, just like RC use to run circles around him. RV aboard a 250F beat RC aboard a 450 at Budds Creek and Stewart wasn't even in the same league as RC, so hows he suppose to beat Villopoto aboard a 450 outdoors. You Bubba lovers are just living in some fantasy world, since Stewart isn't racing anymore this year. MAYBE! we'll see Bubba ride a couple races in 2011, I'm so excited I can hardly breath thinking about it.

Alessi constantly beat RV when they were ten , by your logic it makes him beter than- pretty much anybody - RC , Mcgrath , JS and so on

Hill is under contract until the end of the year. That would keep him from going to any other team for the outdoors.

24-0 is very impressive but whats more impressive is riding the edge 24 times and not putting yourself out of contention- James would have to do that to beat the likes of RV outdoors. Too bad James doesn't give it a go at least RC took his up and coming nemesis head on. If these guys are giving James fits indoors where he is the fastest man on the planet just imagine what would happen outdoors...seriously-

We've got a great SX series going and I think we'll see some great battles outdoors.

Of the folks we know are racing, RV certainly seems like the favorite to me, but I think RD will be on pace as well as several other guys.

A couple of dark horses that might have some speed in the outdoors would be Langston and that mouthy kid that owns the team.

Gonna be a great year IMO.

JGR should take J. Hill on for outdoors.

That would be awesome.

Yup!! Villopoto definately could be the next great SX/MX rider who is talented, fast and durable enough to win both series in the same year. I personally think that's what the measure of a Great Champion is, none of this OH!! the Outdoor Nationals are TOO! tough and long a series crap these rider who sign SX only contracts do. Those riders who limit themselves to SX only should be ashamed of themselves for pissing away the best years of their careers and even consider themselves equals of someone like RC.

No. No it wouldn't.

Yamaha could intervene and have Star, JGR...etc. put Hill on a 450 'outdoors'...there is only -1- problem:

Funding.

Hell, if he could ride "his" bikes & have "his" mechanic...I'd bet that Josh would race outta the MMI/Ryan Clark Rig or the "River" Yamaha or the Valli Team...etc.

In-fact: Screw it!

He needs to get a Box Van and go FULL ON Ol'School!

Cook...I hate to break it to you but james is faster outdoors then he is indoors. No one has the raw speed bubba does and outdoors would be a treat to watch all of the young guns try and battle with james.
