I bought this 1982 RM125 for $250 and then stripped it down to the frame. I cleaned, painted and replaced anything that was broke or worn out. The motor ran perfect when i bought it, but i still disasembled it, painted, new gaskits and new hardware. Im not going too crazy money wise, but i did buy all new OEM plastics for the bike (minus right side number plate, i cant find one ). Anyone know where to get right side number plate?

I never posted pics before so i hope it works

Sweet bike! There was a guy in Australia selling right side NOS number plates on ebay for a while but I haven't seen any lately so he may be out. $150 seems to be the going rate, if you can find a new one.

Thanks for the info guys. Damn $150 just for number plate, There is nothing like NOS parts but that is steep, I'll have to keep looking and hopefully get lucky.

Yeah, it seems steep but it's worth it. All the aftermarket stuff looks bad. I bit the bullet and bought one at $150 but I also found a good used one on ebay for $20. After a little sanding and polishing it looked almost new. I use it when I race.

The bike looks great. There's a used right side plate on ebay right now that looks like a good candidate for some sanding and polishing. Pretty cheap too. Ebay Side Plate

The bike looks great, sure brings back some good memories as a teenager.

Know what's funny, this 28 year old RM 125 looks just as modern as today's bikes IMO. You can see the pass through of works bike technology to the production side. Suzuki had the Full Floater, Honda with the Pro-Link, Kawasaki and the Uni-Trak... and Yamaha had the proven Mono Shock. And we haven't even touch the engine side.

In 84, I was testing for ENZO Racing and Ross had me run a works shock with semi production valving specs. It also had low and high speed compression and rebound adjustments on the shock (cutting edge technology back then) and I was riding a production bike. I was amazed with the Full Floater suspension already, but with the adjustments it was oh-so-nice! Having Ross around too also helped LOL. Boy I sure wish I still had that shock, or shocks. They would make great conversation pieces today.

Again, great job on the rebuild and enjoy the bike...

Thanks guys, I didnt go to crazy with the bike but i like the way it turned out. And its funny you ask about the front tire. When i bought the bike that was the first thing i asked him, " what the hell is that front tire"? lol its a , AMS SAND SNAKE MX (whatever that is, i never heard of it).
