They had to alter the track for him last week so the whole field wouldn't be left in the dust.
The second Sexton takes that helmet off,he's asking his mechanic about him,hoping he finished poorly.

Are you saying he said to his mechanic " I hope he finished poorly?"
Or are you saying he checked with his mechanic about the finish status of his nearest competitor in the points battle?
