Fellow Vitards,
I recently bought a very bad YZ 250. Ofcourse I found out too late. Clutch bearing went and broke the case internally, bearing balls ruined the gears, nightmare moneypit scenario. Deciding if I should get used engine cases to repair the engine. But in order to do so I need to make sure what year the engine is from in the first place.I think it’s a 98 but need to be sure to get the right parts for a rebuild: engine casing shows this number: *4XL-010929*
anyone knows how to read this or where I can retrieve more info on the engine?
thanks in advance.

Thanks both. Managed to find and order the right cases. Build can continue in a couple of weeks I hope
