I ordered some new Gaerne SG12s online and the left boot fit perfect but the right boot was painfully tight around my ankle. I have a pair of Tech 7s and Fox Instincts that fit perfect but want something more protective. Is there inconsistency in the fit on Gaerne boots? I’m wondering perhaps I just got a bad pair.
Are they both marked the same size?

Straps not set the same? If they are, send em back and try another pair.
I wear SG12s on my ADV bike (they've saved my ankle twice now) and they are great boots. I've had no fitment issues.

I’ve owned at least three sets of SG12s over the years, and they always fit well with minimal break-in. This most recent set (new last year) is noticeably tighter overall, took longer to break in, and the right boot is painful on the top of my foot near the bottom strap until it warms up-usually after a few laps. They are noticeably narrower in the foot than my previous sets. I don’t hate them, but my next set of boots will probably be a different brand.

they take time to break in around the ankles. The newer sg12 are not the same quality as the old ones either and they look visibly smaller now too. It's all I wear but they have definitely taken a step backwards.
