The best and only path forward is oil and gas..this is a fact. Saying otherwise is nutty…kooky..childish..detached from reality..whatever you want to call it.

That being said, should always push forward to make producing and consuming oil and gas more efficient and clean. Regardless what you think it does or doesn’t do to the environment.

When either side of a debate like this start talking win-win, my ears close off. There are no win-wins, only trade-offs. So far, the climate totalitarians are not willing to have a rational discussion of the trade-offs. It's like an idol that they worship and no human suffering or discomfort is worthy of denying their goals. Of course, the gallant lead worshipers will never have to face the discomforts they are prescribing for the rest of the unwashed.

It was cool seeing the jet airplanes of the German worshipers frozen on the runway and unable to attend.

Why is it that it has to be one or the other?

All these new energy sources are great; but, the idea that we have to “shut down oil” and shift to “renewables” RIGHT NOW is beyond unrealistic and is nothing more than a New Religion.

Modern idealism would be hilarious if it wasn’t so damn sad.

All of this BS only benefits one group of people and we aren’t in the group…

The good news is there’s way more of us than there are of them.  Hopefully one day soon, enough of the rest of us will figure that out and wake the f¥€|< up.

I've said here before,

Our nearby OHV area (windrock mt) has a large row of wind turbines on top of the main ridge.

Most of the time you can see them not turning at all.

They feather the blades during high winds to keep them from destroying themselves.

(It happened, and threw blades and parts up to 3 miles away)

When they're not down for maintenance, or repair, all of them combined couldn't supply the nearby small town of Oliver Springs with its electricity.

Wow, so their brilliant engineers didn’t think to design the windmills to withstand … the wind.

They're the typical three bladed wind turbines.

One night while the winds were insane, a blade flew off.

Now whenever it's really windy, or gusty,  they turn the turbine heads away from the wind.

Or rotate the blades.

Gotta figure these aren't the only ones with the problem.

I have never heard that. I’ve seen them feathered a lot, and just thought they feathered them for other reasons.
 What a waste

According to ERCOT, wind supplies 28% of Texas energy generation via 15K+ turbines.  The technology works, but will continue to supplement fossil fuels, not replace them in totality.
