I need to check if the venturi block (1) seal needs replacing, but Yamaha's service manual stated below to NOT disassemble because it will cause a drop in carb performance, if so, how is one supposed to check that seal and how is it gonna affect performance by taking it off and putting it back on? Anyway, first image is the seal I found online being distorted. Is it ok to remove the venturi block? Also, it seems that the factory is using red loctite on the two small screws that holds that in place, is it ok to use 242 blue loctitie instead?

I just pulled it out, this is what mine looks like. Looks like the top part is distorted just enough to possibly cause a small leak. I read that this Yamaha issue has been around for a good several years.

I put the JD block seal in mine with no issues. Comparing the 2 seals next to each other you can easily tell the jd seal is the one to go with. Stock one is really flimsy while the jd is much stiffer. Be fine with blue locktite just be careful, they are really tiny screws that can strip easily.

Ktm”s had this issue in 17-18 as well, hard to jet a carb with an internal leak. I used blue loctite when I replaced mine in 2018.
