After seeing the "favorite bike of all time" post, figured it was about time to pull my trusty 150sx out of retirement for the local desert race series to race the 200 2 stroke class.

Bike was originally a KTM demo bike I had set up for D36 and other enduros. Won't be anything too crazy, a lot of cleanup. Stock springs won't be any good for my fat ass these days.

First update, not much going on yet, gave her a quick scrub down and threw some parts on I had laying around. ODI pro grey lock on grips, X-trig PHDS bar clamps with soft green squishies, Fastway linkage guard for 2015 2.8mm longer in "stock" position to settle the rear end. Next week tires, piston, and front and rear springs will be coming in. Haven't decided on much else yet.

maybe get the head ported by PC and throw on some FasstCo footpegs w/ ankle savers?

I'd also go back to stock tank, but that's because I can't stand how fat the oversized acerbis/IMS tanks have gotten these days.

The tanks really aren't that bad, every bike I've owned has had one back to 2003 lol. 2008 KTM IMS and 2015 Husky FC IMS were the worst tho.

Received front and rear springs, and front tire. I've never had a problem with RMATV, but they "lost" most of my order (they never shipped it out) and now they're giving me the run around, so suspension and top end are on standby til they figure that out.

Any update? I’ve been slowly rebuilding my framed 2016 150 as a woods bike for a couple years now, starting to feel some motivation for it again.

I've been slacking, started a new job so I haven't had as much time as id like, I did rebuild forks and shock, gold valves front and rear, race tech bladder kit in the back, hopefully tonight I'll be starting on the top end. Still contemplating what to do about plastics.

Welp, first race of the season is in two weeks and just about finished up except for graphics.

New stuff:
Acerbis goodies, Plastic kit, hand guards, frame guards, front disk guard.
Fastway 2015 linkage guard (slightly longer than stock 2014
Tusk impact wheelset (18")
Xtrig PHDS bar mounts
ODI prosoft lock on grips
Nitromousse's and Tusk EMEX T-35s
FactoryEffex ballistic seat cover
Springs from Slavens and Racetech Gold Valves done by myself
Hammerhead shift lever
Bulletproof designs radiator guards, cut and filed the stock mounts off (one pemnut was already twisted off)
Other tusk items cus I'm cheap (Axel blocks, fork compression adjusters, Stem bolt, rim lock nuts, coolant hoses)
Vortex top end
Galfer front brake line

Old parts carried over:
Renthal Twinwall McGrath bend
Ironman Sprockets and Regina chain
SRT "oem" pipe and turbinecore 2 silencer, E-line carbon guard
KTM quick release skid plate
Acerbis desert tank

I think that about sums it up.

Sik build! Not sure that's the best bike for the desert, but nice nonetheless. Nice to see an actual 150SX build pre-2016 (before the big bore 125).

I know, I grew up racing 125s and 200s in the desert. Eric Hallgath was my hero lol

First race was 2 weeks ago, stuck in first right off the start. Common shift paw issue.

Second race was yesterday, bike ran great, myself not so much.
