Spewing I didn't get the call up for Round 2 to shoot, but track looks good from the Insty Vid's.
Posting results as they happen from home instead! Australia needs to WSX rounds in 2024, Newcastle and Melbourne
And one in Auckland
Track looks good, a lot better on a bigger fares and not an indoor arena, but still have room for another 2 lanes to make the track a little longer

For sure, would love to get over to NZ again to shoot a race and stay a bit longer next time
Anyone down on the ground ?
how’s Tate Reed doing so far ?
He qualified 16th or 17th then finished 10th in his heat, good results, its not an easy field.
There are a lot of good quick kids who can race SX in Aus, its crazy following how many have SX tracks to train on.
Crowd looks good on TV. stadium holds 33k and looks about 2/3 full,
in the Arvo Tate made the main out of the heat, no LCQ's in any class so only had one chance
Brayton won his heat,
man, this is the first track I have ever seen that makes the old Vegas dirt look good,
the pulled an amazing crowd the first year in Auckland, and a good crowd the second, hopefully they come back,
Pretty nice job of building a forgiving track that also has tons of options/challenges for fast guys. Maybe it's just because it is slippery, but glad it's forgiving.
Looks like the slickest track I've ever seen that wasn't a mud race. I wish they wouldn't do these hair pin first turns, but maybe the chaos that comes with them is the goal. Tons of mistakes from just spinning off faces especially on the dragon's back. It's going to be technical and those whoops are going to be concrete curbs by the end of the night.
Right, it looks like the loose top was just slop and under it is wet concrete. Curious how it'll shape up.
I have a cold, but i’m up at 12:16 am California time to hopefully watch Tate race soon. Been following their youtube for about a year now. I hope this is a learning experience for him and how he may need to be going faster than he is. I see Tate Reed vs Levi Townley battling for years to come.
Same here man, up in NorCal and have seen Tate go from beginner level rider to a pretty fast kid in a short amount of time. Impressed with the stream and overall quality of the Australian Supercross series. They’ve come a long way from when Hanny was going out there more than a decade ago.
Just glad that I don’t have to pay to watch the race. I don’t plan on paying to watch Paris SX, especially when it’s $14 for one night of racing. I also don’t want to wake up early as heck like i tried to for MXON this year. Same goes for WSX, i’ll watch highlights of all the races though. I’ve watched every American pro race this year.
Tate for a long way to go to be near the front of the field with Levi , he has not raced a lot and think making the main was a good start
feel for him a bit. Lot of pressure for a young kid with out many races under his belt
How did Levi go?
Won his heat. Main coming up
Pit Row
Brayton is having no luck with Lappers
Deano ripping the whoops. Good stuff.
I'm very biased and only up watching to cheer on my guy JB, but he's definitely not getting the best lapper situations or playing them right.
Regardless, this is a different Dean we've seen in awhile. HIs confidence and riding is also the best it's been in awhile. And his kit is SICK!
Glad to see Clout, Hill, and JB all back after their crashes last weekend regardless.
Good ride through he pack for Townley
I think this should be a reality check for Chad. Tate hasn’t raced any big races in the US. little alone throw him to the wolves and document all the resources at Tates disposal.
Can’t believe he got back to a podium
Tate 15th which I think is awesome
Agreed , racing is one thing , add in 16k fans and it’s even more daunting
Anstie just said its one of the toughest track he has ridden in awhile.....
He raced WSX last weekend!
Tate did a great job, he might have some great resources, but so do a lot of these Aussie kids.
There are two kids out there my Son races against, they finished 7th and 10th tonight, Tate in 15th so not to far off them, but I know how talented those two kids are so for Tate to be where he is with very little racing is in my eyes still impressive.
Townley has some talent, to come back to 3rd in the field and close in on Cooper Ford and Heath Davey is impressive. Cooper Ford has pretty much had KTM Australia backing from 65 days, talented kid, and Heath Davey I am pretty sure rides and trains with Matt Moss, another super talented young rider.
Plenty more Aussie and Kiwis coming across to race U.S SX in years to come
That was good -- production, racing, track layout and some big names out there in all of the classes, even the 85s!
Wish friese was here, not the same craic with out him.
And the near the exact same team who put on WSX.
Only thing that sucked tonight was just the way dirt turned out. Little unlucky in that regard. But the track layout was good, great venue, good crowd, TV production was good.
The only thing that is a bit of a downer is the lack of depth in Australian SX at the moment, I know the guys running 10th and back are talented riders. But when the likes of Robbie Marshal who has been pro in Aus since the early 2000's, retired from racing, runs a freestyle show and rides in it, come off the couch and runs deep inside the top ten all night, things are a little out of wack.
I know it does not help that a good portion of our top talent races overseas, but the depth is just a little lacking. I am sure in years to come it will get stronger, especially with the likes of the 85 class bringing in more SX riders from an early age.
26 in the SX1 class, 22 riders in the SX2 class and 24 in SX3 class.
The front of the SX3 class is close on pace with the front end of the SX2 class.
Would just about be good to see the SX3 class become a junior 125 class, so kids could do a year on the 85, a year or two on a 125, then move up to SX2. And the talented kids could move up early still.
Still overall, the sport is on the upswing in Aus again.
