Going to try a woods race this weekend,  AWRCS in PA.  Does anyone know if I can make it more than 1 lap on a 1.8gal moto tank?  I see they average 10-12 mile laps.  2020 450sxf.

Just raced a MWXC here in Indiana. Stock sxf tank on a 16 250. 7.3 miles and I did 6 laps. I bet money I still have a 1/4 tank left.

Unless it’s ripped deep or super sandy, you got an easy 40 miles in that tank.

Yes, approximately 40miles on a stock tank with a 450, but that can vary on how hard you are riding it, terrain etc..

I would get gas on your 3rd lap

I found a gopro vid of the course and it looks mostly single track, high and dry too.

What the time duration?  If it’s 2 hour or less you probably would only need 1 stop for fuel.

How fast are you? Slower guys use less fuel.

I personally dont fill up. Your bike will last 2 hours. I did 2:30 a couple weekends ago. Probably 50 miles. Bike had about an 8th of a tank left. My KTM doesnt use much fuel.

I think you will be fine especially with the KTM tank being a little bigger than the Japanese bikes. I burn about a gallon in a two hour race. That is mid pack Senior C which I am sure is slower than Vet C. If you were a AA/pro rider then you might need to be concerned. I assume you are not running in deep sand. You might be pushing it then but I doubt it.

Unless you are running AA speed - you can pit in a Hare Scramble race.

Just pull over after the time check and fill 1/4 tank - it takes a lot less time than you think. Grab a drink while you are there .

Run a slow practice loop (remember the good/bad lines) - Run mistake free your first lap - Pace Yourself - Ride at 80% most of the laps and then haul ass your last lap - you will be amazed about how many people you pass on your last lap...good luck
