First off, the online issues are being looked at. What we've found causing a majority of the problems is router connectivity. As Crash mentioned, check your NAT settings; also try and see if connecting straight from modem to your PS3/360 fixes the problem. Let us know if it fixes the problem. If it does, let us know what type of router you are running so we can look into adding support for it. If it doesn't, we'll look elsewhere for the problem.
Not sure what to say about the starts... If everyone goes into the first turn wide open going for the holeshot and disregards other riders, I'm not sure what you expect to happen. Interesting idea aobut keeping people transparent for some time into a race.
Public rooms being 3 laps and leaderboard display being gone were design decisions. We're not allowed to comment on why those decisions were made, mainly because I don't know the details behind them.
As far as bike set up, I run mostly acceleration, sticky tires and soft suspension. Most guys I race with run a similar set up for SX but hard suspension and similar set up but more top speed for nationals. I run the same set up indoors and out. It definitely makes a difference.
We've heard complaints for years the game is too easy, so we tried to make the game deeper, but still allow an entry level player have fun. If you are having a difficult time I recommend spending more time on a 125 on a national track and practice using less right stick. Once you get the hang of it, slowly start adding in the right stick. Make sure you are always gentle with the controls, roll on the gas, gently apply brakes, and don't just slam the bars in corners. Go slow to go fast and be smooth and you'll have a much more enjoyable experience. Try to ride more like a Chad Reed or McGrath rather than an RC or James Stewart; if not, you'll have growing pains just like the latter 2 did when they got on 450s.

We are looking into that.............
It is your router not the game, even if you can play all other games with no issues.........
we intentionally made it so even a slight rub in the first turn will result in a crash............
That was a design decision that you do not have the proper clearance to know about...........
Keep the great feedback coming.
By we are looking into the online issues, we are aware there are issues that weren't found during testing and we're doing our best to find the issues to correct them. Because they weren't happening pre-ship, we need the help of our consumers to troubleshoot the issues.
We aren't blaming the routers, we are simply finding out a common theme with routers causing issues. It isn't meant to be a permanent fix to unhook your router, but it would sure help us help you by finding if it's the cause of the problem.
As far as first turn crashes, I'm not sure what you expect, if everyone goes into the first turn 5th pinned, what do you expect to happen? We can't force brakes upon players so they don't go banzai into the corner.
As far as design decisions, we have a team of around 60 people, not everyone can be a part of every decision that is made. The online and UI HUD elements are out of my area, so I wasn't there when the decision was made. Someone made the decision, not myself, so I can't speak for their reasons behind their decisions.
how do you create a private room?
ps3 if that matters
someone please get rid of the humans
The online race selection format wasn't broken, IMO, there wasn't a reason to fix it. I'm not a fan of the veto option, and don't like racing sand wick/ sugar tree back to back.
I like playing the game though, the physics are really fun, when you get good you can literally jump under guys from throwing a nice scrub.
The career section should be fixed. 90% of moto guys could give a you know what about the buggys and trucks. What we'd like is a full racing series with 250/ 450 supercross, and a full outdoor series as well.
Guys who buy this game are mostly moto guys, and i'm telling you, the sport isn't shrinking, another company is going to want a piece sooner or later and make a rival game. This game is good, but could have been great with a few changes.
as for the humans, some people are just fucking ridiculous. i was playing the other day, in a public match, with three goons with names GoonxSquad and then a number. they were all dicks. acted like they were God's gift to motocross. made fun of everyone because they "didn't ride in real life" and when they were told other wise would make fun of them because they "probably sucked".
i hate people, and i wish we could kick someone out of the room. douche bags.
I've found the key to quieting the other players, by mistake actually. I play Call of Duty 5 and Modern Warfare 2 a good bit, and some of the stuff that comes out of those kids mouths is disgusting. We plugged our headphones into the USB slot (so you wouldn't have to listen to it through the TV) and simply stuffed blankets over it so you couldn't hear it...but you still could hear it. Then, one of my kids tripped on the headphone cord one day and it ripped the cord out of the male USB connector, with the connector still in the PS3. Now, you can't hear anything at all. It took sacrificing a headset, but it was well worth it not to have to listen to all of the crap.
