Does the 23,24 yz450 corner better than the 22?

I ride a 2022 yz450 and I've been on it for 1 year. I'm running keefers recommendations on set up. Same clickers, 104sag, 3mm fork height and that seemed to help. But the bike wants to stand up on me and I really have to force it to lean in the turns. I've heard the new models are better but would like to hear what you have experienced and if you have any set up tips for the 22 to help it stay planted and lean in the ruts.

I’m on the same bike you are. I’ve had my 22 for about a year and a half now. My brother has the 23 and it definitely feels a lot lighter and corners a lot better. I will say though the 22 absorbs breaking bumps much better. They are less harsh on the 22 compared to the 23. I’m running keefers setting on both the 22 and 23 for reference.

A lot of factors to be considered when saying it is a harsher bike. Setup, break in period, you name it are all different.

Man I heard the exact same thing that the 22 gave up cornering for better stability and the 23 has better cornering but gave up stability. Pick your poison type of thing here. Cause if there's one thing I love about my 22 is the stability. I can charge breaking bumps with full confidence and the suspension works great. I do love my bike though

I'm on the 21 model which is basically the same as your 22. Try running the forks 5mm up, should make it hold a rut better. Also, concentrate on keeping your head forward and over the bars as you accelerate

Stuff like that, I just move my ass, and it tells me where I need to put my fork height. it's either down or up.

You'll have to explain what you mean

Didn't you post on here like a week ago you have stock suspension? I would get your suspension revalved/resprung before you buy a new bike based on lack of handling for your current one.

Revalve is always cheaper than a new bike and a revalve made my YZ250 corner like a knife.

Yes, the new gen corners better. That is the answer to your question.

For what it’s worth, I had to go to 108 on my last gen yam to even sniff an entire rut.  It’s easy to get lazy with body position as well. Definitely feel your frustration.
