Thats what he needs to do. BUT, Saying it and doing it is a whole different story.

Reed,RV and Dungey cannot use the mind set of I can loose the title tonite but I can't win it. They need to realize that they need to take the title away from Stewart and not do a Chad Reed and wait to see if Stewart will give it to them.

IMO If Stewart wins tonite its all over.

Reeds "excuses" you speak of were non existent last year. I agree with the mentality of taking it too him and not waiting. However, it can be lost at the 1st round.

I am a big fan of Reeds abilities but I just don't see CR following through on this. It's just not the type of rider that he is. He might ride over the edge for a little while but he will back it down if things start to get out of hand.

It's a long season and he'd be stupid not to.

If that was an excuse then Stewart has been making them for years. My bike, my belly, my daddy, the mud, other riders in his way, etc...

He's been doing it lately though. Look at how many times he crashed at the end of 09 trying to go faster. He even did a freaking backflip. I heard he's crashed more in the last 3 months than he has in the past 3 years. He's figured out how to break out of his box, the question is whether he'll continue to do so in 2010.

I see Chad maybe going for A LITTLE more, but, he's never hung it out before much, why do it now that he's close to retirement?

RV, Dungey, Hill, Grant... they got nothing to lose and everything to gain, IMO.

Seriously R-acer, you don't even need to post in any thread except ones about James...... and even with those you don't need to bother. We all know what you are going to type.

Reed said with the outdoors he wanted to learn to hang it out more so he can use it in SX....

Last year he said were James was jumping a camelback or tripple, i know I have to just twist the throttle...

I think he is ready to hang it out...

He is on EFI so I think it might have built confidence.
I think a good year if you ask me.

Ahhh, you need to cut R-acer a little slack.... he's probably feeling really nervous about the race tonight... I don't blame him. Woohoo

Reed is saying he's changed his "riding style".....from being smooth and consistent , to riding on the edge? I don't really see this happening. To be able to ride on the verge of wiping your brains out like RC , Stewart , RV , Barcia and a few other.....you have to start that shit at a young age. He's never really showed that he could ride like that......so i guess we'll wait and see.

I agree , he should push it a little harder. But i don't see him taking it to the edge like Stewart and RV are willing to do.

R-acer knows I'm just giving him a hard time. He expects it for his stance on James and mx/sx in general.Smile

I've won 2 championships in 3 years and finished 2nd in points in 09. I use a smoother riding style and fitness and I can tell you without a doubt that kind of rider, when properly motivated, can and WILL hang it out further than he ever has.

If Reed has that motivation, and is loving that Kawi, and is teamed up with/challenged by Villopoto, things could be VERY interesting.
