Anyone notice that the PC bikes seem to have taken a leap in the last few rounds of outdoors as far as power goes? Multiple holeshots with all the riders up near the front in multiple motos. They also seem to be keeping up with the star bikes on the hills.
I'd love to see the PC bikes come back to former glory and give the star bikes a run for their money.
I assume you mean the 4S bikes?
Excited to see what Kitchen will be able to do next year on the PC bike.

Maybe they've just been working on their starting technique?

I like the thought there, but two injectors is plenty for decent staged injection on an NA engine of that size. Hell even 20x that size, really, unless it's on a heavy ethanol diet.
Either way, those PC bikes are moving and it was awesome to see Jo up top again and happy to see the drought ended for Mitch and Co 🙂
edit. I'm just assuming it's staged injection, as that is infinitely more popular and I'm sure I've heard before that this is the case.
I read the hired one of the HRC Motor guys about a month ago. I'm thinking that may have something to do with starts but they are definitely running better.
Are there really any secrets to a 4S performance-wise? Balance between HP and reliability..
Not like there was some secret nobody thought of all these years to suddenly make more hp in a 4s..
Guessing they’ve been putting a focus on starts during practice..
C'mon man, they ALWAYS looking for an edge. You're right that some of that might come from executing the start, but sometimes they stumble on something that makes a few extra HP. Think electric water pumps, most recently. There are also less obvious/visible gains in electronics.
Are the digits 2, 8 and 0 involved?
It's 4t...
End of season contract performances.
He said he figured out something near mid-season, then told Matthes he found another 6/10 of a HP towards the end of the season.
.6 HP huh? LMAO!
Sounds like he figured out how not to tell you what he figured out.
He has been there all year.
Forkner says something in one of his Vlogs (2 weeks ago maybe?) about an updated engine and how he had to run the older one in practice. It must be a significant difference for him to mention it in a vlog.
Since Washougal, the Kawasakis have been on par with Star"s on the big uphills. You can hear/see the difference those bikes make over Hunter"s bike ..was his Honda de-tuned after Southwick for the championship?
They may be on par on the hills but they are killing them on the starts. That's a big problem.
This would make sense except all those dudes already have contracts settled for next year.
