Oh hell, new bike time! I'll bet you got so excited that you forgot to ship my Titanium subframe. Same name on Ebay? Definitely a neat bike, however I will be back to pick on how much of a porker it is. I got my 01YZ250F down to the 200lb. mark with loads of light weight stuff back then. Really can't imagine a 250 lb dirt bike? Just doesn't seem right. Neat though.
You guessed it! sorry but got back home late yesterday and you can imagine knowing that I had the bike sitting in the crate since tuesday on a shipping company! Will ship that to you monday

JGR's bikes have no porting (as of now) and with the pipe they are at 60hp, their built race bikes were at 58hp last year, they are extremely happy from what ive been told, with the new bikes.

I have a '10 YZF450 myself and already like it better than my '09 CRF450 with MANY mods. I have not noticed any excessive vibration like others noted. The intake noise is definitely more noticeable but not a bad thing to me. WAY more impressed with this bike than when the '09 CRF came out (that was a big let down).

I've had a new CRF450 every year since '04 and will say none of them come close to being as good as the new YZF. In fact I rode one of my old CRF's a friend bought from me a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how much I disliked the carb after riding an EFI bike for the last year. Honda's gonna be stuck behind Yamaha for at least the next 3 years until they can afford to do another redesign.
everybody says the same thing about there new bike. doesn't matter what color.
it's allways the best bike they have ridden. need to justify the buy.

Because a new bike can never be better than a previous version.

Couldn't agree with you less. I bought an '09 CRF450 when they came out and had no problem saying the motor wasn't as strong as '08.

all i am sayin is it might be a diferent story if we could go back and see what ya said after the first ride of your last new bike?
i'm no way saying the 09 hondas were great bikes. just that everybody likes to hype up there new bike and then the story's change later on. it's natural.
i am sure i have done it as well.
i am also not sayin the new yz isn't a great bike. i am sure it has it's pros and cons just like every other bike. we just won't see the cons till the racing seasons start.
someone said js went through 9 trannys already, that could be a problem.

Anybody that bought one with impression, opinions, mods, computer settings etc? A friend got his last week and we rode it a couple of days. I liked the bike so I decided to order mine and just got confirmation that its in the dock waiting for me! Too bad I have to wait till Friday to go for it, since I'am out of town working, but anyways...

The only thing I didn't love is how quick and hard it pulls in the low mid range, need to spend a lot of time on it to figure how to use the throttle. I liked the ergos, the suspension is very nice for a stock one. The lightness of the bike when ridden and jumping too, I couldn't believe it, specially after getting it off the stand!

One thing had me amazed was how loud the air flow sounds, even louder than the exhaust. Its almost like hearing a bark every time you hit the gas!

well, hope to read good stuff here about the bike.
Best way to smooth out the low/mid punch is with a flywheel weight.

i am wondering if using the extra weight of steel clutch plates instead of aluminum would produce the same efect? i mean eventually you will need a replacement clutch so why not try the heavier steel plates out. but i am thinking that it may not be enough added weight as an actual flywheel weight. i do not know; just a thought.
peace and happy hollidays 2 all!!

JS7 does not use an OEM transmission. If he's having problems it's 'cause of the "works" stuff he's running....not because the stock Yami gears are a problem.
