Any one ride both? I race moto (novice class) and GPs (Intermediate class) in Socal. I am an old guy in the old guy classes.  I know the FX will be good in the GPs, but will i sacrifice anything in moto....or since im slow and old it will be fine?  xoxoxo

I am very similar to you, I race some moto, WORCS, and trail ride. I have had a KTM 350SXF a Husky 350FX and currently on a GasGas 350EX.  For what I do the extra cost of the cross country model has been worth it.  I also don't feel like moto is bad with the slightly softer valving or transmission. I have been able to get it working good for me with stock valving and clicker adjustments.

I have a 2021 FX350, I only ride moto every once in a while usually woods/hare scramble type riding.

A small tank, a 19" rear and MX valved suspension really sucks in the woods, a 18" rear, bigger tank and softer suspension isn't that bad at all on a moto track. The valving isnt very soft either in my opinion atleast at 170lbs it rides much better in the faster rough stuff than the slower stuff.

I too have a 21' FX-350 and ride occasional moto. For what very little it gives up on the moto track, it way more than makes up for it in the woods and trails. The FC's small tank and 5 speed transmission is a deal killer for anything other than a moto track, imo.

You didn't say if you were looking at '24 or older bikes but for '24 the FX has a coil spring fork vs air fork on the FC. FC does have lowered suspension though.

I just moved to a 23 FX350 from a 2019 FC350. Practice with moto but run the TORCS hare scrambles here and some of the enduros. I havnt noticed anything its given up on the moto track. Shoot the big tank and the kickstand was enough for me to switch.

Hi all,

I know I am a little late to this topic. I just bought my first 350 and decided on a 2024 KTM 350 XC-F. I primarily ride moto and really love the bike. I honestly don't think you really give up much.

The new CC forks are REALLY GOOD. I put heavier springs around hour 3 and from hour 3 to about 8, the bike felt so good. Now that I have almost 11 hours the valving is definitely broken in and feels too soft and will be getting in valved for me soon.

The gearing is different (6 speed vs 5 speed) but honestly feels great. First and Second are noticeable lower, which gives the bike a little more grunt. There is a little bit more "space" between the gears which I like as well as it gives more room for you to rev the bike out if you want.

I also don't mind the tank, but do get a little sh!t from my buddies. I have an SX-F tank on order.
