Got a new enclosed trailer, trying to find a better way to secure vp style gas cans. In my previous trailer, I had two eyelets screwed into the wall and used a bungie cord.
The cans moved around a bit scratching and rubbing on the wall.
I'm not building a show trailer, but I want my investment to look nice and I like things to have their place.
With that said any one came up with a good method to secure their vp style, square base, gas cans during travel?

I like that. Gave me an idea for a diy folding one, to that when you remove the can, it folds against the wall so it doesn't pertrude into the space.
2 strap hinges, with a rod across the front.

I run this set up.
works great

Used the pit posse setup like others but have since switched to risk racing setup with the floor mounts. Works well and the design keeps it closer to the wall.
I actually have one risk racing 3 gallon can.
I have a bunch of the vp style cans and don't want to buy more of the risk cans at 70 bucks each.
I think I'm going to buy these, weld a flat bar out from each, run a front bar attaching the two parts together. Then have them fold down when not in use.
I turn my race stand upside down and drop the round VP cans inside. Works like a charm. I don't know if the square ones would fit, however.
I have the bikes on the stand and use turnbuckles to secure them to a section of x track on the floor.
I have done that in the bed of my truck, they fit pretty good.
Two small hinges, 3/4 inch pvc, 2 90’s. Make a U with the pvc, attach the hinges on the wall and to the tops of the U and mount high enough so that it falls flat against the wall when not in use.
I’ll try to remember to post a pic later.
I was going to suggest the risk racing setup too. I have a customer who built a transit out for moto and he has 2 risk racing 5 gallon cans and he is very happy with them. Simple and easy way of holding the cans, and a spot for a pin or lock to make sure they never pop out.
Pit Posse stuff is also good stuff. And they have started to make a lot more of it in the US too . The Risk can and mount , is the most solid mounting system I've seen.
This is what i do, flip stand over and put can inside, my matrix stands hold my square vp cans with no issues.
Pretty much what my thought was.
Years ago I build a trailer for snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and camping out of. What I did for gas cans and more is just put E track along the entire wall. Can then do hooks anywhere for cans, toolboxes or whatever and you can also get E track wheel chocks, and so much more. Little spendy for so much E track but what you could do with it was extremely handy.
What are the pipes

They are ducts from the heater, couple of them aimed low to dry off snowmobiles, one under a coat rack to dry gear, and another for gloves/helmets.
Risk Racing has an incredible setup available. check these out!

Nifty
So here is what I ended up building.
Used the above hinges, and took out one of the latches so that I only have to press one button to collapse it. Some 2" x 1/8th inch aluminum. Attached them together with a piece of angle bracket.
