Fat, heavy oldschool o-ring chains are lame. The modern x-ring chains like DID's 520VT2, on the other hand, are light, narrow and will take the punishment that a 450 puts out without any power loss. Unless you love cleaning, tightening and lubing worn out conventional chains all the time, there isn't a better 450 chain.

this is what i currently use but its hard to clean off the swing arm and plastics and collects dirt like crazy, so that why i want to switch to a different brand when it runs out...

the O-ring chain is on my Super Moto street bike and it came stock so no sense taking it off for a reg chain until it wears out... Cool

Funny this topic was brought up. I was at the dealer because I was running out of chain lube. I stocked up on Chain Wax years back and had a bunch. I was looking for something that wasn't so thick and tacky. The Chain wax just attracts dirt like crazy and the chain always looks so dirty and I can't pressure wash it out. I got the motul so I will try that out but the WD40 is interesting. I just didn't think that was good to put WD40 on your chain though. Think you would have to keep it lubed constantly.

Check my Profile and look at my bike chain. This is what it looks like after a no-soap rinse off after riding in mud and sawdust last Tuesday. No fling and no dirt attraction!

Wow! you guys seem to think about this stuff a lot...
I just use standard Renthal chains, WD40 in sand and ANY normal chain lube the rest of the time. When things start wearing out I just replace them. Never had a failure in race or practise.

Motul just attracts dirt like flies on shiat!!! Just use WD-40! This chain lube stuff is pure marketing for the masses!

I use chainsaw bar oil. Laugh all you want, I've been using for 20 years with no problems. I stocked up a few years back for like a buck fifty a gallon. I may never run out.

I bought a gallon jug of that once, thinking that it should work well as chain lube. Made a huge mess of the fender, wheel and swingarm as it flung off the chain. Bad idea.
