That’s rad. Those two broken arms he suffered last year really jacked him up. Good to see he’s healthy.

Correct. He’s riding an SR and renting Arays van for the weekend.

Are fill in rides not a thing anymore? 5-10 years ago it was a regular thing, haven't seen much this year. Boggles my mind that guys like Colt have to borrow a bike and rent a van to go racing...

Factories have said over and over that fill in rides don’t make sense unless it’s contractually obligated.

He chose his path this year as SX only. I am sure he could’ve been Kenny’s teammate or rode for Club or something. 

He took the factory bike for an entire SX season and kept his freedom open for WSX and he got paid to do both. 

The only reason he is even out there now is the SMX money. MX used to have less money involved, now with the SMX points it’s a little more worth it to show up. 

It will be interesting to see how SMX changes decision making going forward in contract season.

This is great news.  I've always been a fan of Nichols.  Those injuries have completely changed the trajectory of his career.  I hope he gets it back on track!  Pun intended...
