450 MXDN. AP and then who?

Reading an article on MXDN speculation today on RacerX, I got to thinking.

If Chase can't race it, Cooper Webb can't race it, Barcia is still hurt, and Anderson is non committal and Kawi rarely sends their factory riders to MxDN anyway, so he is probably out.

Knowing all this and now taking a look at the outdoor standings, it seems AP, if he stays healthy is a no brainer to get a slot, but what about that other slot?

The next best option is going to either have to be Marchbanks or Masterpool. Either would ride their heart out and be cool stories. When have we had a non factory rider on MXDN? Does anyone know?

Longshot for RJ on a 450 if he isn't the 250 rider.

Am I wrong? Someone please change my mind here.

I think we could possibly see the below, maybe a chance for Barcia if he can get back for a few rounds? AC is supposed to be at Kawi again next season and they have sent ET in the past so I could see them sending him if picked. This is just a guess.

AC & AP 450s

RJ 250

Maybe RJ goes to a 450 w/AP and we send Kitchen on a 250?

Be cool if "The Man" would finally step down so that it was at least a remote possibility that Factory Kawi guys could go......

That’s not the only reason he should step down but that’s a different issue

For the MX2 rider, Deegan seems to be the obvious choice, although he’s going to be like a fish outta water at Ernee. He starts well which is a big deal

I could see Cooper getting the nod if he puts in some good rides like he did at the wick a couple more times. Certainly his experience in that event would be a huge advantage

Are we certain Chase won’t race it? Chase and AP would be a really strong combination

Anderson basically said he would go if Kawi would be willing to support it (I think a press day interview a couple of weeks ago?)  But he made it sound like Kawi was unlikely to fund it.  If Kawi won't support Anderson, doubt AC gets to go either.  If a Kawi rider goes though I think Anderson is the better choice with his experience in this event and with ACs arm issues.  Anderson likely to get faster with more laps under his belt (but not sure what happened 2nd moto at Southwick)??

Deegan on the 250 for me, more consistent than RJ so far this year and they both ride hard.

Cooper is getting married that day. He is out. So yeah, Deegan is the obvious choice for MX2.

Deegan is the obvious choice. The kid aint scared and gets better starts than RJ.

Kawi USA's reason for not going has nothing to do with Roger so you can take off you Kooksey hat...it has to do with current managements view of the race. They have no interest in racing outside the US and prefer to use the time to get ready for the next season, which they have proven previously by using the race to get a head start on testing for the next year...Tomac at Red Bud is the example.

So if it’s convenient they race it..

Why not the top 2 Americans in the 450 class, and the top American in the 250 class?  I don't understand why this is always a debate every year?

(Possible exceptions would be a past champion who was out part of the season due to injury, then they could be considered even though they aren't necessarily top in points).

AP is good guy, maybe a chance to right the disaster that was 2018

Deegan is killing it, obvious choice says the Captain

Since this year is weird, RJ would more than likely get the nod, but it'd be real cool to see a guy like Masterpool get the shot.

More than likely not a repeat for USA, but you never know. That B team 25+ years ago won.

I also want to throw this out there:

If you wanted to send Christian Craig last year, you do not get to state your opinion this year.

Why won't Sexton go?  I must've missed it.

For whatever reason, the FIM scheduled the race for early October. Since US contract expire on Sept. 30, Sexton won't have enough time on the KTM to be effective.

If Kawi won't send Anderson or AC, then I'd go with AP and RJ on 450s and Deegan on the 250. Win or lose, all three of those guys will absolutely send it.

I bet Roger would ask Chase if he wanted to do it and would be all in if he did...  I want to see Barcia's speed late in the season if he gets healthy.  Before his injury, he was really getting after it.  Anderson "was" my second 450 choice, but Kawi's lack of effort and Jason's current lack of speed has me also thinking AP if Barcia isn't showing his early season speed.

Add Deegan...  Just can't see any other option there.

I forgot where I heard it, maybe on a pulp show, that Tomac spent like $20-25k out of his own pocket last time he went to the MXON overseas. That’s probably another reason why some guys are hesitant to go.

How do you think the riders from most other nations actually make it to the MXdN?

Who can afford it more - Tomac spending $20K or a guy who is barely semi professional paying $5k to get there?

I’m talking about all the other teams who attend MXdN that don’t have rich teams and riders.
