Too bad you can only enjoy it about 3 months out of the year.  If it was in so cal you could enjoy that all year.   My buddies that left so cal for idaho or utah cant get used to the weather.  And they cant ever afford to come back.  Now looking at texas.  Big regrets.  They hate the cold.

I know it gets freezing cold and burning hot.  Your definition of weather and mine probably are worlds apart.  I dont ever want to feel 40 degrees and want year round temps to be 70, luckily in san diego we have that.  Quick peak at year round weather there and it looks pretty terrible to me. haha

You're definitely lucky to live in San Diego.  Hopefully more people feel that way and decide to stay there instead of coming here.  You said it yourself, the weather in Idaho is horrible.Tongue

My one buddy that already moved from san diego to boise then to texas to escape idaho cold hates the texas heat.  He says he wishes he never left san diego.  He couldnt afford a house here thou so moved to be able to buy a house.

This is legitimately the nicest property I think I have ever seen.

IMO that is a great price too. 42 acres with all of those amenities already there, that's a bargain for someone (certainly not me lmao).

Former resident for about 10 years. I can confirm this. Idaho is one giant potato field. Skip it. Just another flyover stateSmile

I wish weather in Ohio was as good as weather in the treasure valley.

you're so off base with this it's not even funny.  We put on a jacket/sweatshirt here and ride 10 months out of the year and sometimes in a mild winter all 12 months.  Sure, there are years it's colder than others with some snow, but it doesn't last long.

Man, some of the homes in Parma are pretty inflated. Here’s a 1500sq ft mobile home on 1.5 acre lot for 400k?!

The Boise area has been the fastest growing area in the US in recent times.  Our housing market is inflated no doubt. I've lived here since 1992 and seen all sides of it.

All those poor bastards are moving there, paying way to much for a house all the while looking for something that has been lost due to all of them moving there.

Place is actually a steal for 3.5 milli. You can buy a crackhouse in LA for that much (and it doesn't even come with the crack).

It is, I lived in Rexburg for 4 years and absolutely hated it. I'm sure it's different in other parts like the panhandle but man I could not wait to get out of there. I got depressed I had to go on antidepressants...Maybe it's because I was spoiled to grow up in Bend, OR.

Lol, I know it’s windy, and that drive from Cheyenne to SLC is completely unpopulated. Like, no people or houses for miles.

You ever drove from Butte to Idaho Falls in the middle of the night?

No I haven’t but I would imagine it’s pretty sparse. I meant from Cheyenne to Salt Lake City. I had to change it. You start seeing more population when you drove up to Idaho Falls or over to Boise, but it’s a lot of open territory, kind of like Texas. They are both windy though.

Omg, wow. I guess a lot of people on here just have crazy money lying around. Fir that kind of money, you could have a mansion in Texas, even in downtown Dallas.

That's what's holding you back huh? The lack of bedrooms in a place where it's totally impossible to add space if needed. Got it

It is impressive, no doubt! But it looks like a really nice setup kind of in the middle of nowhere with no natural features or other things people find appealing. I'm not talking about us knuckleheads, I'm talking about people with f-you money. And I'm not knocking this property, just responding and speculating on the "why would he leave" question.

For some of us, middle of nowhere IS the appeal. When I retire, if I never have to interact with another human outside my circle, it would be a dream come true.

So did you leave Oahu because the moto scene was non existent and cost of living was insane or are you just bitching?

Wow! Beautiful dream House with all we need🤩

Who knows.... maybe he's selling because he can't find staff to keep everything in place. Housekeeper, gardener, track maintenance etc etc.
This is something many people don't consider before buying or building something 🤷‍♂️

I made that mistake just over 2 years ago. I grew up in Idaho, but my family moved away in my teens when the economy crashed in ‘08. I was living in South Carolina at the time and decided that I wanted to move back to Idaho. Boy was that a financial mistake! Housing and cost of living has skyrocketed there, and wages are still extremely low because Idaho used to be very low cost living. So I was making far less and spending over twice as much just to make ends meet. Pretty cool state for what is has to offer in the surrounding areas and mountains. But the Boise/treasure valley area isn’t much to write home about imo. Anyway, I moved back here to SC a month ago and couldn’t be happier.
