It should also be worth mentioning while you're praising Chad that his main competition in some of these events is Jeremy McGrath. Don't get too excited about Chad winning all these races yet.

If you watch the last two Australian SX races it looks like Reed is hanging it out more then he used to in SX imo. He seems to be taking more risks and was the only one doing the Triple triple combo in one event (can't remember then one) last race he was pinning it through that sand section triple in and quad out I believe and really hanging it out.

I think Reed is going to step it up more than this year in the SX, needs to ensure he gets the starts and I think he will definately put some wins in!

I am gunning for my fellow AUSSIE for the #1 plate.

i've raced both pro sx and mx (real mx)and i can honestly say it doesn't take as much stamina endurance for sx as much as it takes impact endurance (just made that up but it sounds right) and at this level endurance isn't a factor in either form of racing(shouldn't be anyway) but time spent racing always helps...period. define it anyway you want.

I don't seem to remember it like you do. "Reed obviously faster than Stewart"? "Should have easily won the 1st 3 rounds"Woohoo Maybe you should go back and look at those 1st three races with open eyes and mind.

Ya go back and look at them... James was struggling with bike setup and Chad was the faster rider. But after houston, Reedy (or anyone else) never really had anything for him

i've rode a few full blown sx tracks, and my hardest part was the mental side of it. one mistake and it could put you in the hospital. i got tired on a couple of laps at larry wards sx track, as where i did a six lap moto at camp coker and it not bother me at all.

SX is not nearly physicaly demanding as MX. Its most definatly more mentally tiring because you have no where to relaxe your mind, but not as physical.

Now if youre not breathing right then yes it will fatigue your body, but that only happens when your mind is tired.

Back on topic, Reeds goal for racing mx was to teach himself to ride beyond his comfert zone and to learn how to push himself when things are not so perfect.

He has a mental block that wont let him push beyond himself and he learned how to do it, he has crashed more in the last 4 months pushing himself then he has in the past 2 years, hell the guy even diid a back flip without even thinking about it.

He will suprise if he doesnt go into a shell once the racing starts.

Hopefully he can find the right balance between all out speed and his usual consistency. His biggest advantage has always been that he's on the podium every race, if he can manage to run Stewart's pace without going down he's going to be tough to beat.

I thought it had been made clear on numerous occasions that the fastest guy doesn't always win??? The only thing that matters is the points at the end of the season..

Not so and the only difference is the heat factor. Being able to ride in the heat doesn't do anyone any good in the supercross series.
I disagree. I think Reed may actually be healthy again and without a nagging stomach issue.

Only time will tell.

Vegas clearly doesn't count, neither rider was interested in racing, Reed wanted to force Stewart to make a mistake/take Stewart out, and James just wanted to keep it on two wheels. Daytona and A1 are iffy, but sure. A2 and A3 he legitimately put down the fastest time. But how many of those races did he win? Just Daytona right?

Stewart was the faster rider all year last year. Hopefully Reed will have the speed to make for some good racing this year, maybe RV and JG will get in there as well.

Yep he was faster in A1 and A2 but not Phx. What exactly does your post prove, other than my point, about the 1st 3 rounds?
