I am 6ft 1in and have already put Flo lower pegs on and handlebar risers. I like the setup(2020 450SXF) but just watched ping review his RMZ450 build and he put a seat concepts seat on. They offer a taller seat for my bike, either 5/8" or 1" taller. Anyone recommend this for my size? 1" seems like a lot.
I'd go 5/8" taller.
I am 6'1 and used to believe that I needed this and that to be taller. But I run pretty much everything on my KTM and RMZ 450 standard except maybe having my bars rolled a bit forward.
What seems to be the issue? Can't grip the bike with your knees enough? I used to feel that way on 2 strokes, but learned to used my lower legs to grip more.
Maybe you just read that you need to makes changes for being taller and it's in your mind?
It's possible its just in my mind. I am happy with my setup now, just got my wheels turning when i watched pings vid. Always looking to be better.....
A taller seat makes a difference for me. Less range of motion on the knees

Thats what i assumed would be my advantage with one. Less effort to go from seated to standing. But when the seat i had my eye on said its 1 inch taller, that seemed like a lot.
How much taller is yours?
I’ve got a taller seat on my YZ450 and like it, but it’s bike specific. The tall seat should be considered for positioning in turns, not so much sit to stand transitions. On the Hondas and Suzuki’s I’ve owned I just ran the stock seat. If the tall seat is going to mess with the balance in turns, I wouldn’t do it. I think the KX is already pretty well ergo’ed for tall guys.
