Well, to be fair. Chase is not the champion because Eli's out. Chase is the champion because he rode his ass off all season and put himself in a position to be champion. Would he have liked to win it different? Probably. But he still won it. Just shows finishing is as important as winning. Gutted for Eli also. The old saying,

To finish first, you have to first finish.

No, chase literally is the champion because Eli is out. I'm not discrediting anything else he's done, but it's not like the current situation was "inevitable" or something. Chase knows it too, watch his interviews. I may be his biggest fan at this point because of how respectful and humble he is too. Very likable guy.

Gotta be init to win it.

Imagine crashing all year because you ride over your head and then a guy washes out in a corner and gets his head torn off so you pass him in points. Then the following week a guy is just jumping through a rhythm section and his Achilles decides to give up so you pass him in points and win the title. If I were in that situation, I would be boasting about how I was in it to win it.

No, he'll literally have won because he'll have finished the season with the most points. Next you'll try and tell me it's also because Webb crashed out. So if Eli won, would you say he only won because of CS's soil samples? Everyone on the line has the same opportunity. Chase made it happen. It's not sun spots, it's not moon beams. It's a brutal, unforgiving, relentless challenge for the whole season. Some finish, some don't. Eli has an older more battered body, Chase has less maturity. In this case, the young body lasted longer than the experienced mind.

Sometimes you win the title by a knockout and sometimes you win by out lasting your opponent, either way 5 wins on the season and the title he is the champ! Well deserved. Hope Tomac has a speedy and complete recovery.

First off, Chase Sexton absolutely deserves this championship. Many of guys could've mentally shut down and quit after his mid-season stretch of costly mistakes, but Chase put his head down, blocked out the noise, and fixed what needed to be fixed. He's blended consistency and speed masterfully since the Glendale round, so big props to him for keeping himself in striking distance to capitalize on a scenario like what we've seen here with Tomac's achilles rupture.

I think what makes this so hard to swallow for a lot of fans is the manner in which Webb and Tomac went out. It's one thing if Sexton was battling these guys in main events and they were trying like hell to keep up with him and yard saled. But rather, both injuries were absolute freak accidents that were 99% bad luck. Webb tipped over in a heat race in the worst possible location with AC right behind him. Tomac didn't even crash and his achilles ruptured simply going through a rhythm section. It's just painful to see as a fan when 1 and 2 in points are out for the season due to freak accidents.

Again, not taking anything away from Sexton at all. I absolutely believe he is the heir to Tomac's throne (I think he'll be able to beat Jett for a couple of years) and have been very impressed with his speed and fitness since 2022 motocross.

^^it'd be one thing if it were dungey or coop winning this way (no offense Coop). but sexton had the speed. and he RIPPED at the last round on a suuper gnarly track. held nothing back in the face of big risk. he deserves it 100%. still a bummer to not see them race the last two heads up, but he deserves it. no jinx here, but he looks to be growing alot.

i just hope he stays at honda and keeps the momentum up. it's 50/50 that he loses ground changing fenders.
