I am 5'11 and 175lbs and my 450 is easy for me to control. However I have been riding a long time. a 450 is a TON of power and weight compared to your 85cc. I would look at a 250f

Got a little chubby kid that rides with us, started on and 86, now has a 450, at 16, first thing you must realize is that you are not the boss, the bike is...

Here I go sounding like the mini-bike mentor from hell...

Until you can ride what you have at ten tenths for 100% of a moto, you don't really need any more.

I know you've outgrown 85s, but until you can squeeze everything out of a 150 2-stroke or 250 4-stroke, you can't even consider yourself qualified for a 450. Just my .02.

im 5'5 and 140 lbs and i throw a 2008 YZ450 around like a 125. i dont think 450's are to much power. if you know how to ride one.
get a 250 2 stroke! 250f's are to expensive to get maintained. and 450's are scary when they get away from you.

14 is a little young to be riding a 450 without much experience. Just my opinion. If you go for it, keep in mind that a 450 can hurt you real bad, real quick.

get a 2 stroke. thats alll im saying. 450's can get ugly, quick! and 250f's are good but tend to blow up if ridden hard.

Get a smaller 2-stroke if you want to become a better rider. Going to a 450 will teach you lazy habits. I went from an 80 to a 500 and I think I would have developed a lot better as a rider if I hadn't skipped at least the 125 phase.

have to agree with the lazy habits... was riding last friday and realized that on my 450 that current day I was only using 3rd and 4th gear. Grew up on 80s and 125s definitely a good idea to ride a bike between an 80 and 450.
