It was reported on MXA's website that Giuseppe Longo (sp) is going to schedule the GP's around AMA Supercross but MXA said Longo is running scared from the mighty AMA SX, I think not........

Coincidentally James (Not this year) said he wants to run the world championship, if SX and the GP's ran at the same time he couldn't do both........did James' decision to want to race the GP's actually motivate Longo to change the schedule so James could make a run at it in 2011?

Are they going to pay him huge money to race the series?

Why would he want to opt out of the AMA Nationals to race the same type of series overseas?......Most of the talent from over there will be here by then.

Im not a conspiracy theorist but this does seem a little too coincedental based on the interview with James posted from mxlarge.

Thoughts?
Correct, Sir

Use of or the pointing out of facts, truth or reality is unacceptable.

Thank you for your cooperation

Yes Rossi is the best! Get back to me when James' career is over and we'll see where he stands.

Can you imagine the revolt of all the MXGP teams if James Stewart gets paid mega dollars to race GP's when they are paying €10000 to have riders on the line. I can see a mass strike and JS lining up on the gate by himself.
The money would have to come through the back door from someone like Red Bull to make James racing the GP's a reality

Maybe Stewart and his little lady want to travel Europe on someone elses dime? I know I would. Anyhow the GP's would definately be more a vacation for them as apposed to the 2010 MX nationals...my only question is if he wants to race the world so bad...would he please start in Colorado next fall....

James' team will still have to pay the 10000 entry fee

I would say he's not doing any outdoor motocross at all in 2010, which is a shame for fans on both sides of the Atlantic, but it's his career to manage, and like Jeremy, if he wishes to race SX-only and extend that career, he's earned the right to do that. Burnout has always been an issue in motocross -- Bradshaw, JMB, etc. -- and some guys have chosen to extend their careers by focusing on one series and not both.

What's funny is that no one is jumping all over Mike Alessi and Ben Townley for going MX-only now, just as Rattray and Searle did this past year. What's the difference?

I do hope he reconsiders and races for Team USA next September.

I'm sure you know the reason why MX-riders-only are receiving some more slack? MX is much closer to our hearths than SX, since few of us have any real experience or greater emotions attached to that indoor thing.

Objectively it might not make sense, but I'm a motocrosser by heart (sure, I'm slow, and don't race that much), but I feel SX is way to clinical, fabricated, fake. Also since it's not something average Joe can do every weekend it's harder to appreciate the skills maybe?

The cool thing with this sport, that needs to exploited is that the fans are ex-racers, present riders or future starts compared to SX which I think have a different audience resembling of others sports?

But I guess this is a matter of taste or experience.

Another topic:

One of my dream as a fan would be that you had a lottery using the tickets at every Nats or GP that allowed some of the audience to try the track out during the intermission? I'm thinking a team would lend you a standard bike and some clothes brand would also provide stuff for a fan to use during 15 minutes! Afterwards a one minute interview?

Imagine being selected and being watched by thousands of fans. Yes, I would crash my brains out, but that's my problem!

Just saying of course! Smile

I always enjoy watching James ride in any capacity. As a fan, I want him to ride in every race. I want the best guys on the line every time.

But, the MXdN is earned IMO. A rider earns it by racing MX. Not last year or three years ago. No disrespect to James intended. On the other hand, if the powers that be did invite him and he did race, that's okay, too. I'll support the team that Roger says should go.

Earned by being the best selection, any other criteria and we'd have things like brownie earning his way onto the team and then becoming somehow less deserving.

Dontcha know? It's because real men ride outdoors not that pussy SX stuff. Say that while beating your chest and making a gorilla sounds.
