Please allow users to rank 1-5 (1 being most interesting) threads themselves, then list threads according to that rank, rather than in order of last one commented on.

The boring clutter is real.

I propose to use a ranking system like Reddit's. Make it so you not only can upvote/downvote the replies but the entire thread as well. Then have the option to be able to sort by those votes. You don't need a ranking system that way, the votes will "rank" them accordingly.

right, that’s basically what I mean. I have faith that enough vital members will upvote threads that make visiting the site more appealing than what litters this forum today.

Just add lighting bolt mark option next to downvote which would cause small electrical discharge on OP's current logged in device...

1. Downvotes are useless because they can mean different things. To quote "Jeremy McDuff" from the Demuth thread:

2. Upvotes are useless in the same way as above.

 

Given that you don't know if the votes are about the person's take or the information, they really have no meaning.

If they have no discrete meaning, why do we have them at all?
