I was stumbling around the web looking for info about Josh Demuth’s tragic passing, kind of in shock, and all I found was a couple vids that were obviously made by chatGPT (or whatever it’s called) and a “Tribute” video by Cooksey, who I think I’ve heard used to be a media guy.
I watched it and the guy says he didn’t know Josh, but goes on to blather for 5 min about his own weakass Arenacross non-abilities and gives tips on how to ride whoops horribly. Follows with some bullshit about seeing Josh at a strip club with Deegan, tossing in that Demuth was cool, but Deegan wasn’t. Then compared him losing a toe to Josh losing a leg…it’s the most self-serving gaggle of puke I’ve seen in awhile.
Then he finishes by assuming Josh OD’d, or committed suicide, despite having zero information. Wow, what a tribute.
My heart goes out to Josh’s family, friends and many, many fans. He was an American badass and a super nice guy every time I talked to him. Just 38 years old…RIP, Sheriff
He used to be on some Pulp shows, and did a good interview with Matthes about how Steve grew up but then not too long after that he kind of disappeared and when he returned he just seemed to become crazy conspiracy theory YouTube guy about moto, with a co-host who I had never heard of before . Anyways the guy is a class A moron.
That guy has put out straight up false information in the past that could be harmful to some prominent racers. The dude is now trying to profit/get followers off the death of a rider. Absolute scumbag shit.

I don’t even know who the jackholio is, much less give two shits and a titty fuck about being a cool kid “around here”. I just think it’s abhorrent behavior to do a so-called “tribute” video (about a rider who many of us knew personally and cared for) that pays zero tribute to a really good guy and champion racer. It’s beyond rude.
I couldn't have stated it any better!! Why does it matter at all how he died or in what manner. The guy was a badass in our sport and kept all of us entertained during that era. RIP
The dude is a major tool bag. Trying to make a few bucks off of reporting news that he finds on riders/ industry peoples instagrams. He has no “insider” info and he only attends one race a year.
I’m old…. every time this guy is brought up I think of the kid from Diff’rent Strokes (Daniel Cooksey) who went on to be the singer for this band.

Went to school with the drummer, Brooks Wackerman! His dad was my music/drum teacher. Brooks went on to a very successful drumming career. Believe he’s the longest running drummer Bad Religion ever had.
I had seen the Cooksey video floating around, and didn't watch it until I read your post. To be honest, your take is pretty convoluted. A lot of people seem to not like the guy, but that doesn't mean you have to be dishonest. When Cooksey was talking about how bad he was in the whoops, it was a build up to saying how incredible Josh was in the whoops. He said Demuth was a bad ass on the bike, and talked about how he was one of the few people who could say that they beat Damon Bradshaw. He only mentioned Brian Deegan in passing, and he was comparing his amputated toe to Josh losing his leg saying that he almost lost his foot and that he could "kind of" imagine what it's like losing a leg. It put him in a pretty bad space since it involved so much pain. I think his point was that losing a leg would be all the more difficult.
The only part of the video I would agree was unnecessary was speculation about Josh's death being suicide. That was not necessary and was uncalled for. RIP Josh, and prayers to his family and friends. It's always a sad day when we lose a Moto comrade.
On this particular subject you might be right (I haven’t bothered to read it)
but in general what I say is true- the groupies who typically hate on Cooksey are the same habitual Vital downvoters.
Cooksey could promise a donation to St.Jude’s and they would still hate on him.
IDK, but it seems that the people who dislike him are the ones who post about him the most. Even ML has shared some clips of him while dissing on him.
I made a comment on pulp years ago when he changed his content route. I don’t believe I’ve dissed on him really since. I have once or twice said I don’t agree with the way he’s doing things but that’s about it.
