it's still a stink'n street bike....... don't care how cheap or low of a finance rate you are getting......... just freak'n EWWWWWWWWW..... i'd use that 7K on the ugly azz Tag Heuer cell phone before i'd use it on a street bike......

The red and grey looks classy. At work, if we sell one, it's my duty to take it out and ride it first to make sure the clutch recall was performed properly. They're fast...

there is a reason that bike is so cheap!!!! it's Butt Ugly!!! we gave them away too. thank god i'm out of them. i have 1 Repsol 2009 left and thats it.

And the blue book value on a 2005 YZ250f is $2950! You'd be lucky to get $1950 for one!

I went by to see a local dealer yesterday to check their price. They had the exact bike I liked and wanted $9k for it. That is after they took the $2500 rebate off. hmmm. $6983 with lifetime engine warranty or $9k without?

I went ahead and bought one about two months ago. I ended up flying out to get it at a dealer with the good prices and then rode it back. I have to say that it is the most fun street bike I have ever owned. The handling is very close to that of a 600. I absolutely love it. I'm up to 3300 miles and no oil issues. From the poll I started on 1000rr.net it looks like it is 3/10 that have oil issues, but with the lifetime engine warranty you can't go wrong, plus Honda has been very good about fixing problems.

I also was not too sure about the styling initially. I have to say that they look much better in person than in pictures and after looking at it a little while the 07 and older bikes just look dated (still good looking though), but that's just my opinion.

Not sure, I was quoted $1200 per year for full-coverage and $100 deductible on the CBR1k. Can't even remember what I paid for the insurance on my VFR800.

I actually have both an 08 CBR1000RR and a 2008 ZX10R, The Honda is very smooth and handles very well, but the ZX10R HAS to be the most fun Street bike ever.... The ZX10 has a very aggressive power band, and razor sharp throttle response, and its handling is also very sharp. The honda is smoother all around but "feels" a little tamer.....Both good bikes.
The Honda has a little more low end to mid, the Kawasaki has a stronger mid to top and is definitely faster.... but these things are so freaking fast, it doesn’t really matter. You can’t lose for a bike like this for under $7,000. Hurry up and grab it

R-acer, have you added an IRC or Z-Bomb to your CBR? Just wondering how the top ends compare after that since that gives you about 7 hp. I noticed my front end comes off the ground a lot faster when accelerating full throttle as it hits 10k rpm once adding the Z-Bomb, but I'm up at a mile high altitude so most probably do this without adding it.

The one I picked up in Michigan for a buddy of mine 2 weeks ago was Bright RED...I think its the best looking. And as I mentioned, he paid $6900.
The one I own is the limited All Black.

I bought the following for my Track bike project.

-Akrapovic Ti Evo full exhaust
-Bazzaz Fi fuel control
-Bazzaz Z-bomb
-BMC Race filter
-520 chain with 15T/44 (stock is 16/42 and 530 chain)
-HRC quick turn throttle kit
-Steel brake lines
-Sharkskinz full body kit with race tail
-Pirelli race tires

I am thinking about Ohlin’s cartridges for the front forks....... but if business pic's up a little I might just put Ohlin’s complete forks on ($2200) and an Ohlin’s rear shock. And I think that’s it...



The ZX10R currently has.....

Do not buy the Ohlin's cartridges. A racetech revalve is just as good and half the price. If you are going to do Ohlin's do it all the way or not at all.
