Even IF they were all electric bikes, they'd still bitch about the dust.

If he would have just operated within the parameters of his use permit he wouldn't have to worry about noise, dust or nocturnal neighbors.

Noise and dust huh? What happens when a farmer runs his tractor?

Pretty much every town in America these days. Since I'm a life long mx rider who always took the time to make sure I wasn't bothering anyone and was still harassed I say fuck them move if you don't like it.

The problem is that its fucking bullshit that you need to pay an extortion fee to the county/city/state or whatever to do what you want to do on your property.

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret since I'm a local of sorts. Old people that go to florida retire literally think they're the king of the earth and anything that is not as smooth as tapioca pudding for them will receive their selfish rage until it is.

They would find a way to get an electric RC car track shut down and the lawyers will take the case because the money is there.

Then buy property in an unincorporated area or property that is properly zoned so you don't have to apply for a special use permit and be required to play by the municipalities' rules.

That would be nice except a lot of times people DO, then the city annexes them and heaps rules onto them they cannot follow. Everywhere that is city, someone once shot guns, farmed, and hunted (etc.) there completely unregulated.

I'm just talking about Rattray's case, or anyone wanting to start a business with known nuisances. If he was first in time, or if they rezoned his property, or if he was annexed, I would have a different opinion. In his case he knew what he was getting into and made the decision to poke the city in the eye instead of working with them and it bit him in the ass. Hopefully he is smarter with his next property.

The Villages and the report is from “The Villages News”…Laughing

Then there’s the over-head view that tells the story of how full of shit his neighbors must be. How many THOUSANDS of feet away are they?

Welcome to the world that Cobbler explained.

Let’s be very clear: Old Entitled Folks that think they own the whole damn county are going to bitch and whine and moan 24/7/365…just because THEY DON’T WANT HIM THERE…just his existence and the noise he makes…well off in the distance…for a few hours a day…during daylight hours…pisses off a bunch of relocated city dwellers that ain’t got nothing-else to do but bitch about someone-else making a living.

The Villages…look up their other news worthy stories. Laughing

He needs to relocate.

The guy that exceeded the scope of his use permit and subsequently had a tantrum and told the board he will do whatever he wants with his property, apparently.

Baker had/has no problems coexisting with the community.

Yeah I mean it’s been said but when people get older they think the world caters to them and it doesn’t. That’s all this comes down to for the most part.

The article says the Bakers Factory is nearby. Maybe its thee one in the upper left corner?  I would think the Baker's Factory would have more than the 6 riders that Rattray claimed are riding at a time , doing motos. So I wonder if its 2 separate city's or county's? Or how the Baker's Factory is able to operate without issues? It seems like its pretty far away.

I think that if nobody was able to hear the bikes, then there would be less pushback. Unless there are other things going on that bring attention to them. But if Nobody knows something is happening, it is harder to shut it down.

I think that the electric bikes will help in a lot of cases. Not all, but a lot. It's crazy how restricted things can be on a property that you own.The place I am now I got because of the zoning and the many options it allows me without the need for a special permit.

Rattray and Baker should chip in and buy out the complainers properties. It looks like there are not many places that are close by. Its crazy when I think of how many small private MX tracks there are within 3 miles from me, and how densely developed the area is around me. I wonder what the noise levels are at the other properties and what hours he was given to run , and how many hours a day there are bikes on a track.

The area on goggle maps hasn't been updated to show Rattray's property yet. It's just to the East of Baker's (the one at the bottom of the screenshot) it's literally on the same road about a mile down at most.

The track at the top of the screenshot is Nick Romano's place.

Maybe Baker is the one complaining, trying to get the competition shut down.

Realistically... whats the reception like if I show up bike and all, ready to ride? I'm very friendly, and may be armed with the worlds best chocolate chip cookies.
