From Racerhead:

But the most fantastic rumor of the week I heard was that Kevin Windham might end up as the second rider at L&M Racing. Now I just know Larry Brooks is going to call later, but that is what I heard out there on the mean streets of SoCal.

That would open up F.C to sign I.T, but I find that hard to believe seeing that Windham had a multiple year contract with them.

why does everyone with no cred think they know whats up.. he might be done with his FC contract, but lets think.. how much publicity does he bring? how much exposure does he give/get? this racing deal isnt always about winning! its winning and exposure! if JS7 got 5th place overall do you think yamaha would say f-u with the bikes?! sorry but Kdub is my long time hero, and i m not exactly worried if im gonna see him competing with doug dubach next year

KW on the new Yamaha might be strong combination, if it does happen.

p+rob not.. it can be great and all that be remember KW has aone whole year of testing
on a bike Honda didnt do too much with for "10. IMO hes more ready to go the crf

KW always seems to do good when he switches teams, and steps up his game when he is teamed up with someone faster than him. It would be cool to see KW teamed up with JS!

I just heard it from someone completely outside of racerX .....a team manager mentioned this to me.....It may be true. That would be an awesome team.

Kdub's a bad ass, but I can't see him making top5 week in and week out... It's going to be tough this year there's 4-5 guys that can win races.

L&M does make it sound like they don't even need the second rider to be up front, just out making all the mains promoting sponsors. That's what having a rider like JS7 on the team does though!

That'd be a terrific team. I kept hearing little rumblings that Kevin never really felt right on the '09 Honda, maybe he'll be able to put in a good year on a Yammie.

Yeah Knuckle, you hear in a lot of the honda boy's interview how they testing on the new bikes are tough, or this and that, and they are all trying to get more compfy so who knows...

Do you think any of that has to do with being spoiled on a factory team? jw because other satellite team riders you don't hear it in the interviews....

Kdub was battling for a championship in 08, had some podiums last year on a bike many people were battling with.

Switching to L&M would do nothing but good things for Kevin in 2010, if it happens I'll be looking forward to it.

do canadians do something differently? if it were me, id rather be on a bike i had some time with! we all know kd will be battling for something outside of first place for 2010 sx, just to start, but 2nd to stewart is like 1st place in a mortal world.. i would want to ride a bike that i knew what would happen if i cracked the throttle over a 90' triple

I heard all year that none of the Red riders felt good on the 09's. Davi, Ivan and Windham werent shy about it. I think Short held the company line though. Which is why alot of the guys riding on their own dime rode 08's.

You make it sound like he has never switched bikes before? Why would from now untill Jan not be enough time to get a bike set up? I am sure that Kevin would be more than able to get comfortable in that amoount of time.

Motive=Money.

He has a family he should think of. Make as much as you can while you can. Highest bidder wins. Why is team switching so unbelievable?

I thought Kevin Windham had a deal with Honda for another year. I did hear this same rumor, but didn't give it much credit until now. Man, Kevin Windham on the same team as James Stewart, that would be a good team.

I thought Josh Hill had already signed with L&M for 2010?

I'm torn here. I can't decide who would make a better team?

James Stewart and Kevin Windham?

OR

James Stewart and Josh Hill?

Man that is a tough call, two very well liked riders with great potential for solid finishes.

In a perfect world it would be both. IMO

Time on the bike or not, the yamaha is likely a better bike. I's no secret many riders were having issues with the 09 and preferred the 08 to it. Either way Kevin can adapt to whatever bike he decides to ride, he is a talented professional you know.

I had asked the ? on another thread about the K-dub to L&M with JS1,Look back when K-dub was Yamaha he was comming into his own on the blue bike! I remember his 125 days and then when he got on the 250.Then it was that whole honda, yamaha fall out thing hope that dont hurt the deal! It would be nice to see JS1 and K-dub outdoors nxt yr also.

Wasn't he second in the SX series in '08? He's on the back side of his career, and if his performance on the 250F in a couple of nationals is any indication, it might be a steep drop, but he's more competitive overall than Josh Hill.

Josh hill would be a waste of time. Let him find a sattelite ride or do it on his own and prove himself and his heart and motivation before he's handed another factory ride. JMO
