I recently bought a 2023 450sxf, previously I had a 2019 fc450. I kept my x trig rocs from this bike because I was told they would work with the new bike. I tried to put them on today and the dust cap that slides over the stem prevents the clamps from seating correctly. Anybody swap x trig’s from old chassis to new and know how to fix this? Possibly a different stem or dust seal?

Any photos? I have Xtrigs on my 23 with no issues.

X-trig have one specific tripple clamp for 2023. Anyone know the difference if the old one also fits?

Top clamp is thinner and the bottom clamp wont let you get full range of motion

Not Xtrigs but factory split clamps work no problem, have them on my 23. Bought from the dealer who confirmed fitment before I bought them. C7663989-02B0-4C78-97CB-DDA683E8A529.jpeg?VersionId=OoruoPJE

You need a different dust seal made by x trig to put older (2022 and less) x trig clamps on the 2023 chassis then they fit fine. I got the dust seal and mine fit correctly after that.

And I believe you only need it if you have x trig rocs. If you have the non rocs that you can’t adjust the offset you should be fine.

Hello, which seal do you need, the one from xtrig model 2023?Screenshot 2024-02-11-10-06-15-000 com.android.chrome

So is the summary/conclusion that 2019-2022 KTM chassis triple clamps can be made to work with 2023-2025 and vice versa?

And does this apply for all Luxon, KTM PowerParts split clamps, XTRIGs, and OEM clamps?

Steering stems, bearings, etc. are all the same 2013(and likely much earlier than that) to 2025. The main thing that changed on the 2023+ chassis is the upper bearing seal. It got thicker, so the top clamp got thinner to make up the difference. The steering stops on the 2023 frame moved very slightly, but still work fine either way.

So clamps from 2023+ fit on the older chassis just fine, you just need to use a 2023+ upper bearing seal (the single piece design).

Conversely, pre-2023 clamps fit the 2023+ chassis just fine, you just need to use the pre-2023 upper bearing seal assembly (steel cup, o-ring, and seal around the head tube).

This should be true across the board, for all clamps, OEM and aftermarket. I can't say that 100%, though, as there may be some super oddball design floating around that interferes somewhere on the frame, has incorrectly designed steering stops, or something else. But I don't know of one where that would be an issue.

Guys - I snagged a set of new 2023+ KTM PowerParts split triple clamps for my 2022 KTM 450SX-F and they are missing the hour meter mounting holes the stock top clamp has.

Are you guys aware of any fixes to this in the form of OEM brackets/other?

I would love to have the OEM hour meter mounted in that general area again.

Thanks in advance!

(and yes tape and tapping holes are on the list)
