Absolutely normal. Anytime you shift the bike or kick it into gear, you put some sort of wear on transmission parts. Just make sure the metal shavings are steel. If they are non-ferrous then that's when I would be concerned about other issues
Metal shavings or metallic debris?
Big difference there. I would say some small amount of metallic debris, very fine particulate matter, is somewhat normal. Metal shavings on the other hand, is not normal and if it was me I would automatically be concerned and want to tear the engine down to figure out where it's coming from before a catastrophic failure occurs.
Next time I change oil I’ll post a picture. The magnetic screen captures it. The paper filter looks good.
I rode that platform for a really long time. You're fine. Like 639 mentioned, if you see copper or something in there, you've got issues. I found metal in mine for the first 3-4 oil changes, and then sporadically after that. I beat the heck out of my RM-Z250 and it never skipped a beat. Awesome engine.
