Dude, since 2019 it’s been nightmare. I live for my daughters now, they are the big losers in my crazy ex wife’s plan. I gave up the house to get them away from her forever. They live at my parents in basement , I’m in a woodshed with outhouse and sink and wood stove.

I do whitewater in summer on nolichucky river, and go to mountain tops I can access by vehicle which are quiet a few take hammock and stargaze all night, I live about 5 miles from North Carolina line like hot springs is just over the mountain from me, so yeah ain’t to bad, I look at things like it could always be worse , and I’m damn sure glad they ain’t lol
had to cut and split wood yesterday cause it got cold again which I enjoy as long as the tree don’t try to kill me which last year bout happened , I videoed it to boot, fuckin learned that one , don’t use cell phone to video when you might need it to get help and it’s fifty feet away ,

one said he was going to do straight sour mash no sugar or yeast added but I don’t believe it i just use corn, your yield is half but I’m old time, they didn’t have sugar to waste and yeast back in late 1700s , and the taste is there ,
but most made here is full of sugar yeast and fruit in jar , all bullshit and make you shit thru eye of a needle or a screen door as they say.

Won’t have the taste of a copper still. I’ve seen a few stainless but a copper condenser was always used, it takes impurities out or something. Even guys that use them submarine stills on that bullshit moonshiners show will use a copper head and worm. That show,damn.
what I do is say you got 100 lb corn, 50 will be milled, 50 will be laid out on a tobacco bed silk and soaked to sprout. That be sweet malt ,grind that up and it’s the sugar, about 7% is yield . If sugar and yeast is added get about 12 or 14 .
the corn only way is just a whole different taste .
All I know is, that likker you sent me years ago was the best rocket fuel I ever had!
