The reality is that even the kids that were standing around him will get a little bump in how their peers look at them. Just imagine you are 12 years old and go back to school and the story you tell is: "Yeah they picked a kid out of line to meet Danger Boy and get a signature, it was the kid right next to me. It was sooooo cool!!!!!" Other snot nosed kid: "Oh man that's sweet, that would be so cool." For the next week that kid is the kid next to the kid. When you are 12 and everything is cool that's pretty sweet.
How many kids put their names in for the KTM Challenge and tell all their friends they "Just missed?"

My kid was a little star struck Sunday getting to walk up to him. He treated her kindly and him and his dad both signed her t-shirt.
For as much shit talking as Deegan gets, I have personally seen him at the Mini-O's giving time to younger kids and being really cool to them. Granted that was a different atmosphere with most kids that were there were racers themselves, but it showed me a lot that he treated them all good.
I gotta give you credit, at least you haven't brought your Barcia Derangement Syndrome into this thread..... baby steps.
