Is there even one?look at Cam at ATL and Dylan here recently. He was clear to race Daytona? By whom?! Then just now the presser crash. Not good for the brain!
We have seen it in nascar over the recent years with Dale Jr coming  out on the topic more. Now Kurt Busch. Yes this topic is always a hot one and seems to boil then simmer then repeat the pattern. There needs to be more done in amateur and pro levels of Supercross and motocross. Everyone reacts diff when comes to symptoms yes. There needs to be some more measures taken or riders are seriously going to have life long issues. Yes we all know it’s dangerous sport. Just wish one main rider would come out and stand up and say hey look. Kind of what Dale Jr did in nascar. Still there needs to be more protocol with this.

Brain injury assessment  is not an exact science.

The protocol was designed by physicians.

If a rider passes the protocol and feels up to the task, then who should have to power to say no?

This is what we have for now.

Even if Dylan went to the top research center in the country, and scanned him with the most powerful MRI, it’s not really possible for a neurologist to detect a concussion. I don’t think you’re going to do it on Instagram buddy.

prior to deploying into a combat zone all soldiers are required to establish a baseline reading through a computer based test. When you return you are required ti retake it … somehow we all scored higher than we left… I called BS on that one! I would imagine that the “protocol” is similar to that in some way … and exact science it is definitely not!

Concussion protocol is becoming the most misunderstood word on vital just behind sandbagging….the concussion protocol was developed over many years of research from the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program. They created the imPACT test that is utilized by every major sports league, high school sports, NASCAR, the NCAA and SX/MX, this is the “protocol”.

Take your time to listen to the below RacerX podcast on it as it will help you understand the process in evaluating the athletes and what they have to do before being allowed to compete again.

I think the AMA protocol is similar, a pre season test and then re-evaluation.

MXA's take on theprotocol.

MXA is a little off on their analysis....the podcast above is from the actual Dr that is in charge of the program with AStars medical...he actually knows what he's talking about and it's a very good and informative podcast.
