I'm not versed enough in who owns what or who sold what to who. Some of these organizations seem like they are just taxing bodies of the industry. Want to do a pro race, pay the AMA!

Admittedly, maybe I am confusing the AMA with AMA Pro Racing. It's all a clusterfuck.

But what is the relevance of it being AMA sanctioned? And I'm sure that's not free.

The AMA sanctions SX and amateur motocross, AMA Pro Racing owned by DMG sanctions Pro MX with a lease through MXSports.

I'm having a hard time understanding what that is for? Why does MXSports need AMA Pro Racing? I fear the answer is because they have no choice, which makes AMA Pro Racing exactly what I feared, a taxing body.

The lesson of American roadracing is the reason there isn't 250 2 strokes in the 250 class, don't piss off the factories that have been supporting your series. The sanctioning body is secondary. The same thing happened in world Superbike and the factories took their money to motogp.

Well WSBK is back, every single major brand is on the grid with Factory teams except KTM (KTM doesn't want to make road legal superbikes and supersport bikes).

Combining the 250 class is extremely unwelcoming to everyone outside the combined top 22.

Only solve I’ve got is this:

Top 22 from qualifying go direct to 250 main.
23-45 race B main.
46+ go home and prep for the next week.

So the winner of the "B main " makes 550 for winning?

If you combined the series teams would cut riders and a lot of the independent teams would not race the entire series. And injuries would pile up and by round 9 you would be back to 6 top guys being healthy. We lost half of the guys this season before it even started.
