neck brace broke your sternum?

MSR before they were sold. Fly stuff that I've bought in the last few years seemed pretty poor quality, but it was half off so... Astars looks great but it's a little pricey for me.

I love TLD, but I feel like their fit doesn't work for me anymore. I'm not exactly a large dude, but the pants are so tight I think they're made for trans women.... no room for the package (and I'm not bragging about size, either - nothing to call the Guiness Book people about in that department!!! ) If I go up one size, the pants fall off. (And they're still tight in the seat.)

I've been wearing Alpinestars as a backup lately. Only had one pair though, and I'm only halfway impressed. The gear looks and feels great, but I absolutely shredded the jersey in my latest crash. It was a bad one though, so it's hard to tell if any gear would have survived. 

2 of my ribs are permanently dislocated on my sternum. Blew the cartilage out. Got bucked over the bars and landed face down. Did break my collarbone in the process. If I put a leatt on, the pressure points it puts it n our sternum are directly where it blew the cartilage out.

Fasthouse. Sublimated ink just doesn’t last long enough. 

Yikes - That is a hard hit.

I've had the same get off with no issues, several times I've gone OTB and came away uninjured, maybe lucky, maybe my build is different.  

I did get sideways on my KDX and hit a fence post with my shoulder, and tore the clavicle away from my sternum, it sticks out like a mailbox flag.   I was not wearing the brace on that ride.  

Never know.

Sorry to hijack this - I still wear Leatt gear - but not the helmet - just jersey and pants.

Fly and Alpinestars have been my good to for the last few years.

Used to run Shift gear but harder to get now at local dealers. 

All the gear nowadays is pretty good hard to go wrong.

I do want to try out some seven gear this summer to see how it does.

What does SMP stand for again?

How is MSR since it has been sold? I almost bought a pant/jersey/glove combo from RM last week, but I’m wondering how cheaply made it all is being so low priced. 
 

TLD was my go to a few years ago. I loaded up on gear back in 2018-2019, and haven’t bought anything since. I need to buy some new stiff now, and TLD seems like the quality and fit has gone a bit downhill maybe??

I want to try the Moose Sahara gear for this summer, but I’ve never seen a set in person to judge the quality.

O'Neal.  They sponsored my kid in 1981 or so also and still today their stuff is built to last. 

Klim is about as good as it gets for off-road, IMO.  It's bombproof and fits well.

I have a few sets of FXR gear.  They've been killing it in the looks department.  It is pretty lightweight (sorry, thin).

Fasthouse fits a bit tight, but my girl likes it.

Webig has killer jerseys, I have quite a few.  No frills, but they look awesome and have held up well for me.

Fox no fear and JT Racing 80-90s.Anyone remember Hondaline TX10 Gear?? Worse than EP performs in which i won a set of gear at the CRA Banquet .

Oneil sponsored alot of kids back in the 80s around my area . Offered kids dealer prices on everything in their catalog. Great company i had some neon pink bullet pants the boots sucked . 

Ditto that. I don't know if it's me getting older and potato shaped, but JT's waistbands sat and adjusted perfectly on me. I have some O'Neal kit now and the waist is too low and slides down further when moving back and forth on the seat.

I am back and forth between Aplinestars and FXR.. Both are excellent and have their pluses; FXR is lighter, but AS seems more durable and the material is stellar. Now just need a 6D to run with the FXR gear (currently only have the SM8). 

I'm surprised that Answer is not on the pole.  I like the clean designs of the Thor gear this year. Alpinestars ,TLD and Leatt.   Some fox stuff , but it seems like the past few years , fox has been making some stuff that looks more like knock off fox than the real thing.  But they have so much stuff that there are still some that I like. 

 Moose makes some great fitting gear for people who do not like the tight fitting gear.  I wear between a 38 and 42 depending on which brand of pants for my regular everyday pants. And I tried on a pair of Moose Qualifier pants in a 42 and they fit like a pair of  regular pants. Like lose and plenty of room. I felt like I could wear a 40. All of their pants have a buckle and the velcro belt style adjustment. even the entry level priced  line. I've always thought of moose as more of an off road brand . But they have been pushing more into MX ,SX and AX.  They have some clean designs and some throwback stuff. 

I'm surprised O'neal is doing so well  as of the time I'm posting this. Its one of the  brands I have never worn , but I have heard good things about them. 

 I heard an interview with somebody from Troy Lee that Barcia's gear is custom made for him , in what they call the "Ultra fit" and that none of their gear at the time of the interview , was as tight as the stuff he wears. But that so many people think that their gear is super tight because of the way he wears it. I like the variety of design styles that TLD has. Some clean stuff, wild stuff , plain, etc.  Alpinestars this year is all so clean and similar , I'm surprised they do not have a few more colorways that have some wild stuff just to have something for the person who likes that. I like the clean bold designs they have , but I know that not everybody likes the same thing so I would think they would try and have something for everybody like a lot of the gear brands do. 

Shot gear is available in the US again. We were selling it back when MTA was still around. And a lot of people really liked it. Compared the fit to Fox. The only negatives were about the name. Some people did not like the name.  But the fit , and durability was great.  The line they have in the US is a little smaller than the full line. and the Sublimated jerseys are not available in the US yet. But they are working on that. I think its so cool that You can order a Shot jersey with your name and sponsor logos sublimated into the jersey from Shot. You can even make custom colored jerseys.

I think it would be cool if all of the gear brands started to offer a semi custom line. That you could sublimate the jersey like what Shot offers . But also have  a pant that could be custom colored. Even if your unable to add logos onto either the pant or jersey. It would be cool to be able to order gear in the colors you wanted . Have the designs set, so just colors were changed up.  

I picked gear for how it fit , and then the design/colors second. Durability was less of a concern to me.  What is the reason most people pick the gear they pick these days?

No Fear, strictly because it was down the street from my house in Carlsbad and Jamie who worked there 

I just got some Moose M1, Sahara, and Agroid gear for super duper cheap. I’m pretty happy with the gear for the price I paid (75% off), however I would not pay retail for this. 

I like the M1 stuff however the Agroid and Sahara stuff feels a bit cheap. 
 

Is it me, or was gear from 10 years ago made with much better materials than modern gear is made with?
 

Comparing some 7 year old TLD SE pants to modern TLD SE Pro pants, I much prefer the quality of the old ones.

I also got some Oneal Mayhem Hexx pants on super sale. I think they are higher quality than the Moose stuff with higher MSRP. 

Surprised to see O’Neal leading this pole buts it’s well deserved. They have great quality in there upper end gear and very clean look imo. I have 4 or 5 sets myself. 

how about Hondaline TX 10 gear ? 

Surprisingly decent. I’m in the process of losing a lot of weight so I decided to pick up a couple cheap sets while I’m between sizes and wanted to treat myself to a birthday gift 

it fits alot like my fly kinetic mesh gear without the Velcro on the sides. The Jersey could be a tad longer in the front but other than that it deff gets the job done and looks pretty good too.

Ya that’s a great deal. I’m also looking at the Axxis line. Sets are $70 now, which is still great.

How does the waist fit on the pants? True to size, or a little big like most MX pants? 

I wear 38 jeans with a belt, but normally 36 MX pants fit me well. However I’ve heard to go 38 on the MSR stuff because it’s a little tighter..
