Lappers

All positions pay points. May not matter to you but every point is earned, even in a battle between 21st and 22nd 2 laps down. 

Tell me one battle between 21st and 22nd since they expanded to 22 riders that you can remember.  Just one.

You should try pulp fantasy. Makes whoever finished outside the top ten a lot more interesting, including the guys in 21st and 22nd with the handicaps. 

Been this way forever. Why not pull those lapped before 1/2 way, and let those stay who don't. Positions will be same as if rider was multiple laps down, with less influence on outcome of race. Imo

So if Webb and tomac tangle in first corner of start and they have to untangle bikes on these sub 50 second tracks they would have to pull off? NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion but I spend enough of my life in moto as it is.

When the mains went from 20 riders to 22 riders, the first turn pileups, first lap crashes, and lappers all got worse.

When the mains went from 20 laps to 20 min + 1 the races got longer and lappers got worse.

Now we have lappers lapping lappers affecting the outcome of the main (Houston 2021 Wilson lapping Bogle holding up Roczen).

Too many riders on the track at the same time. Go back to 20-rider mains. I'd be open to a B-main to see a separate race for the would-be lappers.

I used to look forward to Laporte interfering when we had guys winning by 6 seconds but with the racing this good, it’s starting to detract from the battle 1 lap ok…..   you go two laps down it’s over.  The fact that we have guys three laps Down is absolutely absurd. 

Two laps down and your race is over is sensible compromise.  Hannah years ago, was for lappers getting the black flag but that's too harsh.  And to those who say, the racers need the experience so don't black flag lappers, they're already getting more experience now that we've gone to timed mains.

Thanks for reminding me about the Wilson/Bogle incident. Your twenty-rider suggestion still leaves four racers two laps down on the last lap at Tampa.
