My club (Daytona Dirt Riders) has been hard at work laying new trail for The Alligator Hare Scramble (Feb 18-19) and the Alligator Sprint Enduro (Thursday March 9) and it is shaping up to be a couple of epic events pretty much back to back. Lots of pine woods, some open field turn track sections and the always popular "Palmetto Hell." If you are getting tired of the weather up north you should head on down to sunny Florida and get some good riding in. If you are planning on being down for Bike Week and the races we are pretty much smack dab in the middle between the Speedway and Pax Trax.
Where can we find info? Specifically the March event during Bike Week.....
I will post a flyer for the enduro when it comes out but here is the flyer for the Hare Scramble.

The Alligator Sprint Enduro is held on Thursday March 9th and we will open up the gates to the property probably around noon on the 8th and racers can camp overnight.
If you are wondering how the enduro fits into Bike Week March 4 is the Daytona Supercross. Ricky Carmichael SX is March 5-7. Wild Boar Hare GNCC March 4-5
Don't forget the Flat Track races at the speedway on March 9th and 10th.
I was sad to see there wasn't an alligator pit jump..........C'mon Florida be Florida

We don't give all the secrets away on a preview video.
We used to race the GNCC and then the Alligator 2 days later… total beat down! One year the Alligator was almost cancelled due to wild fires in the area. A good portion of the course was still smoldering and everything was charred & burnt. It was like racing on the moon….those palmetto stumps are absolutely brutal, especially with standard MX suspension…😂
Was there last year and hope to make it this year again!
We have smoothed all the palmetto stumps out.
We put a lot of time and effort into making a great course, this year we actually rented a trail mulcher for a big part of the quad course. This thing is on the front of a Bobcat and just tears the hell out of everything. Cost about $3k for two days but the quads will love it and after some time on the track it will be mint. We have a turn track that we practice on that's probably a mile and a half and last week we disced it up and have been riding it in. When there is a bit of moisture in the ground it's some of the best chocolate cake you have ever experienced. For the enduro we really strive to make a fun and challenging course. It is definately not blood and guts like a GNCC.
I think I found a flyer for the sprint enduro.....

Are you guys going to cap entries at a certain number? I don't want to enter until I know for sure I'm heading south from OH.
I have always wondered how a new rider knows what his number will be so they can have the appropriate number background and number color. Numbers aren't assigned until sign up I assume.
I try to hit a GNCC every few years and a new transponder and helmet sticker covers the scoring.
We do cap the entries but even if you show up on race day we don't turn people away. There are always no-shows.
As far as numbers and backgrounds if you just get a one day membership Ronnie Hames at HBD MotoGrafx is on vendor row with temporary backgrounds and numbers.
Good to know. Thanks.
I watched this video 10 times last night. We will be there! I will be in Premod B and Senior B and our little guy will be in Pee Wee Beginner. I am battling for that Senior B championship this year.
Look forward to seeing you out there. I think you'll love the trail we have laid out for this year.
Whoa, wait....what?? I need to change/update my number and background on my bike for this one race? I would almost just rather race unscored than deal with that LOL.
I looked over the pre-entry stuff and I will say I'm pretty confused. But I'm also a dumb old MX guy. I don't get this "row" stuff....other sprint enduros I've done we go off single-file in 10-15 second intervals.
Awesome! I'm in. +55B (Silver Masters B?) , on a GasGas 350 EXC.
I was responding to the question about new riders not knowing their number for the hare scramble. If you are not a member of FTR but just want to race one event and you race my class obviously my number (194 derrrr) is not available.
If you are racing the enduro you get a number assigned to you. it is on a sticker already it will have your row and letter example 17B. My suggestion is to put a little tape on your plate ahead of time so it peels off easy. As far as the rows and stuff, that is only for the start. If key time (Start of race) is 9:00 and your number is the 17B just show up to the start in time to start at 9:17. The rest of the race you start every section when you are ready. It sounds complicated but it is easy, no time keeping. Just show up to the riders meeting and do what everyone else does. lol
If you have any questions, feel free to text me (386) 871-0666 even the day of the race I can lead you to where you need to go and walk you through the process. That goes for anyone reading this.
Pit Row
That's a fairly speedy class down here, good luck and hope you have a great time.
Thanks much appreciated! Planning on it, only thing that will change for me is if suddenly the weather forecast looks terrible. I don't want to take off work and drive 15 hrs for crappy weather hahaha.
The crazy thing about Florida weather is I live less than 10 miles as the crow flies from our race property and it can be pouring rain at my house and the property does not get a drop. If it gets a decent amount the day or two days before the dirt is prime.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it before but if you search "Alligator Enduro" on Google maps it will turn by turn take you to the front gate. There will also be the Florida Trail Riders arrows on the road leading you in.
For anyone coming to our Hare Scramble stop by and say hi!
Tonight, I'll be parking campers and starting with tomorrow mornings race I'll be running the starting grid at the start of the races and running around the property on a red Can-Am quad towing stranded riders back to camp or doing reroutes which I don't anticipate any of them because we are high and dry.
From noon today until we are cleaned up Sunday night, I will be doing dirt bike shit. Life is good!
I forgot to update this thread but all in all it seemed like everyone that came to our race thought it was tough as hell but fun. You know you did something right when a guy tells you it was his toughest race ever and can't wait for next year. We had just shy of 900 racers show up which shows the sport is alive and well even after the Covid bump has gone away. I posted the video in another thread but we did have the worlds first electric bike hare scramble win. This was on a Saturday race which is a little shorter of a course and not as rough as Sunday. Give it a watch, he can hustle that bike through the woods pretty good.
You all did an awesome job! We had a killer battle in Senior B with what seemed like a 5 man pack within the same minute the whole race. I was fortunate enough to come out on top by 7 seconds after a decent little get off on the second lap.
Glad you liked it. Looking at the times you could have thrown a blanket over the top 3 in your class. That close of a race after an hour and a half is great, it's better when you win. lol
For anyone looking to race the Alligator Sprint Enduro on March 9th pre-entry is open. We will also have room for some walk ups but we limit pre-entry to 300 riders. I think there is less than 50 openings left.

Thanks for all the info and help. I just pre-entered; looking forward to it!
Awesome, I'll let you know what check I'm at and give you knuckles on the way out. Weather is shaping up to be perfect, if we get an hour or so of rain the day before it will be absolutely perfect.
For sure it is. What’s even better is the guys I was racing against are freaking awesome dudes and are genuinely stoked on the racing no matter the outcome. We really had a blast.
For anyone entered row assignments have been set and are available at the link below. Pre entry is now closed but there are spots available on the day of the race.
