No way I love Gomez and have been looking at going to see Ben myself. Have you seen him before live??
Me and the mrs have Black Keys in june I think. Super excited as its my first time seeing them.
Seeing Alter Bridge with Mammoth this month and am very excited. For those of you that haven’t heard Eddie Van Halen’s son’s band Mammoth, you are missing out🤘🎸
I genuinely thought nobody would respond to Gomez but yet here you are. He was great, just him and his guitar, he's a great guitar player as well as having that amazing voice. I've seen Gomez several times over the years, always good, he said they're working on a new album.
Not sure where abouts in the UK you are but Ben is playing a pub in Todmordon near Halifax on the 4th Feb, I would be going to see him again but already going to the Arenacross in Birmingham that night.
Forgot to put on the list:
Elvarna (Nirvana covers band fronted by an Elvis impersonator)
I got into them just after A New Tide came out. Back then gigs weren't really on the agenda for me. Too busy wasting my life away in a pub. By the time I sorted myself and gigs became the norm again they were on that hiatus. Which has sucked because I love them! Always wondered how they weren't bigger and that they were musics best kept secret.
As for Ben he's been coming up on my recommendations on Spotify for ages but it's probably only been the last 6 months I actually realised he was one of the singers from Gomez.
I'm just outside of Birmingham, as soon as he's anywhere close I will go for sure. I think he's playing Wrexham which is only a 2 hour drive. So I may do that one.
Definitely don't meet many Gomez fans very often!
Well, its summer here and my wife an I just saw UB40 at our local pub.
Was it featuring Ali Campbell? I'm sure he goes out with separate/equal billing, as in, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell.
Trying to make Riot Fest this year, Hoping to catch Manchester Orchestra and Death Cab for Cutie as well
Saw Buddy Guy in the Tennessee theater last Thursday night.
Acoustics don't get any better than that place.
Seeing sunny day real estate in Phoenix before sx
gonna miss built to spill by a day
Not a concert, but I am seeing the comedian Jim Jefferies later tonight. 3rd time seeing him. So hopefully that'll be cool.
Still trying to workout my summer shows. Most of the bands that are coming close are playing weekdays so it makes it difficult.
Two on the summer schedule so far.
I got the wife Charley Crockett tickets again for June. Also Clutch with Dinosaur Jr. & Red Fang in August.
My daughter, both nights at allegiant Stadium here in Las Vegas, and one more show in July in Denver. T-Swizzle🤣🤦♂️🤣. My poor son in law, 6 hours worth. 😱😱
Got tickets for Limp Bizkit today, they're playing at a small town in the North of England called Halifax.
Over the last 10 years the town has renovated what used to be a textiles trading building dating back to the 18th century, it's now boutique shopping, eating and drinking leisure complex
For several years now they have been putting on concerts, last year included Tom Jones and Chic and Nile Rodgers. Well this year they are putting on even more and they've just announced Queens of the Stone Age are playing in August too, which is a big deal for me as they are one of my favourite bands ever. Good times and just about 10 mins from my front door.
Pit Row
I'd probably go if the wife allowed me to take some binoculars.
Just saw G love, got another reggae show comin up (wife and daughters jams) thrice is comin through, excited about that, then Gorilla Biscuits in June. Real stoked about that!
Oh saw Ryan Bingham and Tracy Lawrence at the rodeo a cupla weeks back
Is that the same GLove who went out as G Love and the Special Sauce?
Yup
Those guys were/are cool as fuck. Saw them 25 years ago at Leeds Irish Centre.
Missed seeing them open for The Cult.
EODM and The Devil Makes Three.
Foreigner.
Next weekend. . .
Knee WILL be better.....better be!!
I know its an old thread but its come back to life and I’ll contribute!
I had tickets to see these Texas Hombres two years ago but the stupidity that was covid scrubbed that, and regrettably the last chance to see the late great Dusty Hill live after his untimely and unexpected passing last summer.
we left the house about two hours ago for Amarillo Tx to see the little band from Texas at the Amarillo civic center!
Billy G is as sharp as ever, and hopefully Frank is still hanging in there and playing as well as in his younger days! I’ll be happy to see Elwood, (Dusty’s long-time guitar tech and fill-in WITH the late great Dusty’s blessing!) and see/hear how he lays the bass line down!
I’ve always loved ZZ’s stuff and was a huge fan long before MTV came along and gave a boost in “pop rock” with the Eliminator album!
I’m looking forward to a fun evening and expect to see and hear a great show!
😎 👍❗️
Polyphia are coming to town with Domi and JD Beck. I'm not huge on Polyphia but I'm a fan of JD's drumming so I'll probably go check it out. Those two are pushing jazz into some crazy territory
My son is going to see Polyphia, in a similar style but I think better we've then got Animals As Leaders.
