Could care less.
I really thought this was about the stupid ass AMA rule that keeps us from using helmet mount GoPro in amateur MX. Having to use the chest mount gives me rage. The footage looks like crap, it gets knocked off sometimes, really no upside. I've already signed a waiver and assumed plenty of risk just by entering a race, I'll make my own decisions on the added risk of a tiny plastic camera.
Why does it bother you for riders to thank whatever supernatural being they believe in? They also thank their parents, significant others, mechanics, etc, who you don't know or have a relationship with, but you understand their act of thanking them and don't have a problem with it.
This is a "Get it off your chest", not discuss your beliefs.

Other people have replied to others' comments in this thread as well. I have every right to engage in discourse with somebody who put their opinion, which I happen to disagree with, out onto a public forum. I wasn't disrespectful or anything, what's the issue?
Could point out the obvious difference between your examples but let's keep it moto.
The original comment wasn't purely moto related, all I did was ask them about it. Is discourse not allowed? If they don't want to respond to me, they don't have to. Why is it your people's business what I said?
OK buddy, go ahead and proceed with your discourse. Where do you think that dialog is going to go? It's not moto, I can tell you that much.
Because it clearly said "Get it off your chest ".
Not "argue about what someone doesn't like".
I pray to "The man Above", but that's not what we're doing here.
We're getting things "off our chests".
Push button starters.
You have an unfair advantage because every time I stall on the side of a hill, it's on the wrong side.
This forum has moderators that could do the job of letting me know what boundaries there are in a thread like this, it's not your job to do that. I saw someone say something that I happen to care about and I responded in a respectful manner, I wasn't trying to put anybody down or be aggressive.
What exactly do you mean by "Your people" ???
Well couldn't I argue that me responding to that person's comment is "getting it off of my chest"? The idea of a thread meant for people to say whatever they want, with nobody being allowed to reply, seems a little pointless to me.
The other people who have replied to me, essentially telling me to keep my mouth shut and that this isn't the place for discourse, when I was responding to somebody else. I don't see why it's anybody else's business to tell me to shut up, with exception to moderators since it's their job to do so.
to the OP of the question, I think he was just trying to steer the thread in a good direction, kinda like how people say "never talk politics or religion around friends"... obviously you can if you want to, but those discussions are never what I personally consider "fun" or any kind of enjoyment of my free time. I'm pretty sure he was just trying to keep the thread light hearted... and I think you are smart enough to know that, most likely...
No, you have the opportunity to get whatever you want off your chest... in this case it would look like:
"So what if a rider wants to thank whatever higher power or religious teaching that he follows after a race... he is free to do so" (and I agree, not that it matters)
but i agree with the other guy, this is a "get it off your chest" not a "religious discussion"
I definitely get that. I never start conversations about religion/politics on here, as I agree that usually they're stressful and unenjoyable. From my perspective, the commenter that I originally replied to was the one who started the conversation by sharing their thoughts on riders thanking the man up above on the podium. I replied, because I disagreed with his stance. I figured, if that original commenter didn't want to respond to me, he didn't need to, and I wouldn't have said anything else and the short interaction could've been lost in this thread and nobody would've cared.
Instead, other people who I originally wasn't interacting with replied to me, essentially saying that I shouldn't reach into that territory of discussion in order to keep this thread from being a dumpster fire. I agree, I didn't want to cause some major upheaval either. To me, multiple people replying to me, telling me not to engage with that person about the thoughts they shared, caused more of a commotion than if everyone read my original response and figured the conversation would be settled between myself and the person I originally replied to, whether that be through a respectful conversation or through him not responding to me at all and the interaction simply ends.
Can you people fighting over religion go smoke a joint and chill the fuck out?
Anyways, something that bugs me? People getting mad at me that I don’t want to spend the entire god damn weekend at the track, spend tons of money I don’t have, to be miserable in someone else’s camper not being able to shower the whole weekend.
I’d rather spend $20-$30 at the local practice track and ride as much as I want and chill as much as I want

Sorry, Tom, I was just yanking your chain. I do agree with your sentiments though and I think the riders on the podium have earned the right to thank anyone they'd like.
I miss banners getting wrapped up in the spokes.
“85s” and “65s”
that was such a poser term back in the day but it somehow got adopted. I still call them 80s

It's lame that you can't watch practice from all over the stadium at Anaheim anymore. Used to be you could sit anywhere and all the concessions were open. Now they confine everyone to the 3rd baseline and only have one area open to get food and drinks so there's long lines. Also herding everyone in and out of the same gate sucks balls. No tailgating after paying 20 bucks to park, and not being able to go to and from your car in the parking lot once you go inside is fucking stupid too. Used to be you could go in and buy t-shirts and souvenirs while you watched practice, then carry it all back to your car to eat and switch into warm clothes for the night show. Now you have to be some kind of pack mule and carry all your warm clothes and whatever you buy with you the whole time cause there's no going back to your car and re-entering. What a crock of shit. I don't go to baseball games but I bet they don't pull that shit at those. Only one way in and out of the pits is on my list of shit they fucked up too. I know more than a few guys who stopped going because of all the crowd control crap. There wouldn't be so much drama and fighting if they didn't make everyone go through the same fucking gate.
(2nd time it's happened)...the heroin addict who stole all our clothes off the washline yesterday...I hope he OD's.
South West does it best mate. You still get the occasional prick trying to park you at a practice day or acting like they're racing for Monster Cup money, but most around here are friendly, helpful when needed and just good dudes.
On topic, the only real gripe I have is the people who don't understand that some of us are just out there for fun, we aren't trying to be a pro or the fastest guy at the track. Fair play to you if you're aiming high, but some of us are just happy to be out riding.
Bronze Cerakote. Ugly and overdone.
You nailed it on this one. The whole tailgating scene at Anaheim was a huge part of the fun. When pit bikes showed up it made it even more fun, but I knew that wasn’t going to last, too many drunk wheelies gone wrong.
The kids don’t seem to believe me when I tell them how it was. Dangerous freedom scares people these days!
I want to vent about how I'm generally just not as excited about this season as I know I normally am. I don't know if its just the lame (in my opinion) off season hype/drama from riders like Ken Roczen, the new series format, or just the fact that I'm fairly certain there's no way we're going to see something that tops what we saw this past Summer competitively speaking. Just ready to see some racing saturday night and hopefully the excitement follows.
You shut your dirty mouth 😂🤣😂
Why can’t TV race commercials show bar dragging corners, well setup passes, finish line whips, whoops done right, instead of douchebag takeout moves and crashes? Even a 50/50 mix of both would be better. I’m sick of the marketing end of moto showing so much carnage.
